Description Along with the three main pieces, the art show contained four slightly smaller fully colored pieces that focussed more on the secondary characters and on the life within Crossworld. This one I'm quite proud of due to the massive amount of lighting involved in it. My art teacher, who'd been pounding lighting into my head the past years, pointed at it with a loud victorious exclamation of "HA!"

I took that as a good sign. XD

Here be a couple quite unusual and fun characters of Crossworld, my doofy wizard who's more sharp-witted than he lets on, A. Aurum, and his beautiful, exotic, and dangerous djinn, Khalida, created by . Aurum runs a small magic shop within the city, and no one knows just how long it's been there... You can find all sorts of oddities there, from cursed bracers of water-breathing to the silver zucchini of truth.

Crossworld and the characters are the original work of myself, Nyx (aka Pointy), and Star, so please no taking of characters or art for personal use!

Very nice. Lighting IS important (you know that already) and it shows well in this one. His use of light and shadow drew me to Luis Royo... he's my favorite fantasy artist (even if he has moved on to post-apocolyptic weirdness way beyond my tolerance). The elements of his work are fantastic... but realistic despite the fantasy. When you master lighting, you're well on your way to that level of creation. Work like this draws the eye to look closer.

Hmm, Luis Royo? I don't believe I've heard of him, though it's possible I've seen some of his pieces. I'll have to do some research and see if I can find some of his older pieces!

You flatter me, Katarthis! ;3 I still have a looong way to go before I achieve the level of professionalism and a style that really stands out as my own. Still, it's really good to hear that I'm making progress. :3

I'm currently growing a Viridian Cucumber of Pleasing Action myself...

I agree about the lighting being right on. Still having trouble with that myself.

He, not she. And he wasn't laughing at it, he was happy that I'd learned how to handle lighting. Please to not be threatening my favorite teacher, or I WILL punch you.
