Description
Since ik a lot of folks are gonna have questions as to how Isabelle Prower's Printing Press installed into her adult form - Perfect Grade - works, I decided to make this quick little piece to showcase the INK-er workings of her new ability to convert food into utility on what is already a highly diverse arsenal. (Thank you, RubySp00n for inspiring a more in-depth look at her food-influenced arsenal and ammo supply)As her Printing Press is a modified one from Mobius' Press Garden, I took a Kirby-esque approach to the color ink cartridge idea when applying the functions of each. I think you'll all find this different spin on the Copy Ability very fitting.
So as I mentioned to Ruby, Issy can eat any kind of food she couldn't appreciate before in her previous forms. As Perfect Grade, she can now do that and much more. So her, Ruby and Indra keep food that can support this function on them at all times. Not just because it fills up Issy's reserve ink tank in her stomach, but because the properties of her snacks are sent to the main tanks to modify her main ink in use so that she doesn't always gotta stick to her default printing press ink. So what kind of powers can Issy's ink be modified w/? Let's delve into that.
•Basic Ink - Standard black printer ink. No special traits applied to her plethora of ninja-themed weapons and tools made completely of the ink in her wrist tanks. Anything not in her liked/disliked food scale (sour and dry) always result in this going to the wrist tanks. Regardless of food, this particular ink is always sent to the reserve tank as to equally fully replinish the main tanks in her wrists should they run dry.
•Freeze (Ice cream treats, even stronger ink if it's Apotos' certain famous sundae devoured) - Color Ink in the palette of vanilla ice cream. Applies ice properties to Issy's entire arsenal, useful for volcanic regions and traversing areas with too much water.
•Capture (Minty treats, excluding Mint Candy) - Color Ink in the palette of mint toothpaste. Applies traits similar to sticky traps (like Spider webs and sticky mouse traps) to Issy's arsenal. Useful for capturing the wanted villains Team Protostar will be facing. Has the bonus of having a mint scent.
•Shock (Chocolate treats in Issy's favorites) - Color Ink with the palette of a chocolate bar. Invigorates Issy's arsenal with the powers of electricity.
•Soothe/Calmer (general sweets w/ no invigorating qualities) - Unable to use her weapons and tools, but Issy is more inviting to scared folks that instinctively defend themselves by lashing out (i.e. Inkdrians who fell victim to experiments by people like Reina) through a soothing, sweet aroma similar to something from a happy memory of theirs. Makes it easier to talk to said people.
•Fire (Ingesting spicy food, her most hated kind of food) - Color Ink in the palette of thermal energy. Imbues arsenal w/ the power of fire and provides protective heat in Absolute/Below Zero Temperature locales or situations for her friends in case it's too cold for even Indra's comfort.
•Sapphire Thinner (Mint Candy; NOT ADVISED UNLESS PROPERLY PREPARED) - Soul Sapphire resonates with Isabelle's insane overflow of hyperactivity and turns her default ink into thinner temporarily. Useful for clearing out obstructions of Synthetic Ink left behind in abandoned Synthetic Ink research labs and/or recent outdoor experiment locations w/ synthetic Ink present for uncovering clues. But must be kept at bay so she doesn't accidentally harm anyone with it, as Thinner is like an eraser.
•Construct (Cookie Dough) - Color Ink in the guise of an iconic cookie flavor. Allows Issy to create objects to help her friends and/or fixed damaged ones w/ normally unrepairable damage. Applies the fragrance of Cookie Dough on anything constructed/repaired by Issy.
•Bounce (Gelatin) - Allows Issy to temporarily turn water surfaces into platforms w/ spring properties. (Often as a pressure-weighted spring shape; hence the play on words of Gelaton)
•Erode (Ingesting bitter foods, Issy's disliked food taste) - Has the opposite applications of Construct. Useful for navigating ruined locations with plenty of fallen debris, and melting metal shield doors of any metal. But can't harm sentient machines like Issy herself.
•Enhancer (Ingests the sap of any variation of a blooming Sakura [Cherry Blossom] flower found anywhere in the galaxy) - Single use ability per ingest, and cannot stack w/ itself or enhance the final weapon ink ability and sapphire thinner; upgrades the properties of Issy's next food ingest 1,000-fold. Not only letting her wrist tanks use less ink on larger weapons/tools and increasing the chances of no jamming on said sized weapons/tools, but increasing the strength of the benefits.
•Goddess Palette (Final Weapon Color Ink; cannot keep but is blessed with in times of extinction-level crisis) - Said to be the same palette used by Fairidae for the creation of the Inkdrians. While Issy can never keep the power it holds, it IS bestowed upon her if life itself is in a crisis with no other way to stop it anywhere in the galaxy...even unstoppable in time by super forms. While using the Final Weapon of her arsenal, she has an infinite supply of ink and thinner. (Both of which she can change between at will) But much like Super forms, it doesn't last without sustaining rings. When utilizing this color ink, her weapons and tools are limitless in how she wants them to be, and are imbued with as many of the natural elements she requires as possible. (Even being able to merge all of them for a finishing strike)
Side Note on Goddess Palette: If the crisis is still in progress of being stopped during this divine intervention while Issy has no ring protection, this power will begin counting down to completely overloading and permanently killing her (even if rebuilt, her own being will essentially feel like it was shattered), leaving no room for error to restore the ring count for her asap (while she's not being affected by the unstable overflow fatally yet) as this color ink is too much for her to control w/o this protection from the insane power spike. When the crisis is averted, the power is taken back and Isabelle's ink tanks revert to normal. Isabelle is very much scared of this power (Despite the gratitude for whoever's giving her the chance to show she can defend more than just her friends) because of these drawbacks, often worrying what will happen if Indra and/or Ruby Moon slip up unexpectingly if she has no rings; either by being killed by something while trying to gather the rings or other similar unforeseeable outcomes (like someone interfering with their progress long enough) while trying to get her out of that incapacitated state before her time is up.
That's basically all of the printing press conversion functions. Another unique spin on this is that she can't lose them from a long enough, serious beating. But as she isn't a broken god of immeasurable power, this is also her greatest weakness. I mentioned before that this printing press CAN jam up and not work from larger things she needs from her arsenal of weapons/tools. As modified as it is, the Inkdrians who gave her this to use aren't miracle workers, despite the ones who worked on her and Indra deciding it could prevent a repeat of Indra putting her own being at risk in such a red flag way. Mobian tech is just as flawed repurposed into what this modified one is now.
Smaller objects are of no concern, but the larger they are...the higher her chances of this printing press locking up in the wrists. (Or at worst, the entire printing press) Without proper re-training in hand-to-hand combat as precaution, over-relying on her printing press' ink-made arsenal for larger objects from her already limited ammunition could make her cocky enough for her to be both powerless AND defenseless until she can be safely repaired easily by her friends (if the jam is minor) or repaired for a fee by an Inkdrian mechanic. (If the printing press' jam is major) as it IS Mobian tech modified by Inkdrians with some of their own tech's custom parts; parts only these mechanics would likely know would need to be replaced during repairs, hence the fee as there's a chance they'd need to import purchase these from Inkdrians born on other planets. And since she's about as smug as Indra now thanks to being influenced at her most impressionable, this cockiness happens a lot.

Well I mean...it'd run in the family of the Prowers having game genie. *Looks at Tails' Flicky Army of Death* xD
Then again, I dun wanna know who Indra stole that god mode gem from to be Legendary.
At least Issy can't use it at will. It has to be authorized by whoever's giving it to her. XD
