Description
Though there are a wide variety of golems that can be created, lots of people see them as mere sources of manual labor. They can be crafted from many different substances, but often they are put to work in construction, logging, guarding and many different jobs. To most, golems are constructs of work and labor, built solely to serve (which I think is not a good way of thinking). But the tooth golem is an exception to that rule. These little constructs are built for play.By far the smallest golems that can be built, Tooth golems are not meant for heavy lifting or labor. Their small stature and thin limbs make it impossible for that. Instead, Tooth golems are mainly built as toys. The process of golem building is a tricky and tedious one, and it requires those who have a good hand in magic. For those who want to try crafting these constructs, getting the supplies for a twenty foot tall rock man is a little tough. To practice and hone their skills, mages have turned to making much smaller golems. With a couple of teeth from any animal, some sticks, clay and string, mages found they could use the same complicated magic to make these tiny creatures. Now the construction and animation of a Tooth Golem is a necessary test for any golem builder to pass. If you can make those teeth walk and dance, then you are on your way to making men of stone!
Tooth golems hold the same attitudes as any other golem, which means they tend to let others do the thinking for them. They are often bound to a master, to whom they serve. They will follow any command given to them, and will stand around waiting for the next order unless they are given the permission to move about on their own. Usually these commands are simple, as the masters of these constructs are often children. Parents that get into magic or golem building will make a tiny tooth man and give it to their child to play with. Those who build them for a test will gift it to their kids when done. Interestingly enough, the ownership of a tooth golem often helps teach kids responsibility and the consequences of actions. Though Tooth golems can be easily repaired, a child who has to watch their little toy pathetically drag itself on broken limbs often quickly regrets their actions. Kids love them so much, sometimes retired golem builders will turn to making these little guys to give to the village children. And it is easy to see why, they are adorable! I should totally get one. I mean I know enough mages, I bet they would do it. Ooo! Maybe I should get one for when I get a granddaughter! I bet she would love it! Dang it I just wrote that down, didn't I? Sorry about that, my mind wanders when I write these. Anyways....
It turns out kids who grow up with Tooth golems often get quite attached to them. Those who go into the field of magic will sometimes transfer the consciousness of their Tooth golem into the body of another, larger construct. Like anything involving golem crafting, this is difficult, but it turns out people are more than willing to go through the trouble! It is warned, though, that one has to take some time to reteach the golem. With them used to being in tiny, powerless bodies, transferred golems can cause some damage when they forget how strong they are.

I was flipping through my species binders a while ago and was just picking out species and things that needed updating. This one happened to catch my eye, so I doodled something up. Nothing really more to say.

Indeed she would! Creating these little guys steals business from her!
