Tales tell of a twisted band of abominations that roam the land, spreading their vile songs to infest towns and corrupt souls. Wherever this horrid group strikes, death and destruction are soon to follow. Though they are monstrous creatures now, the members of this foul band were actually once human. The stories say that they were a traveling band that went from town to town in order to perform and entertain. In truth, though, they were nothing more than talented thieves, using their performances to distract the people while they robbed them blind. Their tricks and charm were legendary, as they fooled entire crowds into believing them as nothing more than simple musicians, even as their infamy grew with each heist. For years they looted and robbed, gaining both treasure and enemies with each passing day. Many wondered if their spree would ever stop, if they would finally call it quits or if the gallows would bring an end to their careers. No one could have predicted the true fate of this infamous band. During a heist on a wealthy collector, the band of thieves happened to snag a rather strange music box in their haul. They knew not what it was, only that it looked expensive and that it would fetch a fair price. Little did they know that it was a Cantatio Daemonum, a vessel for the infernal Voices. They only realized this when they returned to camp, and one of the members opened the box. Brought forth by the screeching tune of the device, the Voices came forth and offered the gathered musicians a single wish. Still celebrating from their recent victory, the band did not realize the danger of this offer and plunged ahead recklessly. Since they enjoyed their life of music and trickery, they wished that they could live this life forever, and the Voices began to sing. At first the musicians believed the song would give them immortality, but it unfortunately brought much more with it. The music began to warp their flesh and tear at their minds. Their bodies were mangled and twisted as the song altered their sheer existence. In the end, the members emerged as horrid abominations, their human bodies and minds forever lost. Infused with infernal powers, they could indeed now live the life of music and thievery forever, but not in the way they had imagined. They would not be stealing gold and jewels from the gullible, but instead blood and souls from the living.

Before his horrid transformation, the man who became Malstro was the leader of the thieving band of musicians. Now warped and reborn through the Voices' song, he plays that role once again. He is the one who leads the band and decides their actions. With the help of Writhem, he also conducts them during their performances, helping control their song so that it creates the desired effects. While the combined powers of the band can bring about great cataclysms, the individual members are by no means powerless. Malstro brings forth his power through his massive mouth, playing his teeth like how one would strike the keys of a piano. The tune that is created can alter the emotions of those who hear his song. With the right chords, he can fill victims with heart-stopping terror or whip in them into a murderous rage. Entire platoons of warriors have been turned on each other through his music, striking their fellow comrades down in anger while Malstro watched with amusement. If this tune fails to do the job, Malstro is also capable of slamming his teeth together to create a cacophonous sound that disrupts all minds and thought. This effect lasts for only moments, but it is enough to disorient foes and interrupt attacks. Even those who are deaf to his tunes are not safe, as Malstro can simply use his mouth to bite them in half. The clanging teeth can easily cut through flesh and crush armor, and his long arms can snare fleeing prey and drag them into the waiting maw. Though monstrous in form and desire, Malstro is not a simple beast. He fancies himself as "sophisticated" and always is mindful to think things through. He is not ruled by pride or ego, and some may be able to actually strike deals with him if the offer is tempting enough. Even then, one should be cautious of him, as he does gain a lot of amusement from using his music to torture victims.

Well these guys are absolutely ancient! I drew these guys sooooo long ago, and I just had to give them some color updates. They were a blast to draw up, and it was nice to give them some real color! Hope you enjoy!
