Description
Before the world was first created, the only thing that existed was the Golden River. A never ending stream of Ichor flowed through the darkness, lapping upon blackened shores. It was from this golden fluid that the first god emerged. A being made entirely of Ichor, it rose from the waters and sculpted itself a body. It wadded through the heavenly flow and walked upon the dead shores for the first time. It looked up towards the void above and, at first, saw nothing. Then it chose to see something. With a mere thought, it brought light into the darkened sky and formed the stars. Then it took the deadened earth at its feet, and used it to sculpt a world. Like the dirt, though, it was barren and unfit for life. So it took Ichor from the river and poured it upon the earthen orb. The godly fluid melded with the crafted ball and did nothing. For too long, the Ichor and blackened ground had been with one another, and they were unfit to bring life. Seeing that the Ichor could not change the crafted orb, the god decided to change the fluid itself. Focusing upon the Ichor pooled in its hand, it split the holy fluid into four different liquids. From it came Blood, Phelgm, Yellow Bile and Black Bile. It was these four fluids that he poured upon the world, and life quickly exploded from the soil. Like sparks on dead wood, energy and life burst forth and covered the planet. The four elements each played a pivotal role in crafting the earth, and together, made the world that is known today. Pleased with its creation, the god released the planet into the sky, and from that day forth, watched over it and used its will to keep it safe within the endless ocean of darkness. Even as the god weakened and died, the next god took its place and held power over the world.Unknown to the god, though, was the birth of a sixth element. The Ichor that had been first introduced to the planet had soaked into the soil, but had done nothing. Time moved on, and it had dried deep within the planet. As the Four Humors came and brought life to the world, the creation sucked the strength of the dried godly fluid away. What remained was a weakened husk of impurities, one that grew hateful of the world above. Ichor is the fluid of gods, and from the Golden River, has a mind of its own. What had been separated from the river and drained was now angered in its loss of power and mind. It could no longer hear the voices of the river, and did not have the strength to go back to it. Hanging in the star-lit void and trapped within the new world, it grew feral and twisted. It despised the god that tore it away, and it hated the fluids that sapped its strength. On that day, a sixth fluid was formed. Alkahest came into being, and longed to devour all that had betrayed it.
The Four Humors
Blood - Blood is the erratic and excitable of the four fluids. It is created within the heart. It is the most common fluid found within the body, and thus the fluid that encourages movement, motion and life. Those who have chosen Blood as the fluid to bind with are usually playful, happy and somewhat carefree. In society, Blood is used as an energizer, running in combination with Yellow Bile to fuel machinery and vehicles. Armor and weaponry infused with blood allow for quicker speeds and higher agility, giving the user a rush in battle. Blood is also used as a stimulant, its strength depending on the purity of it. The purer the blood, the stronger the effects. Those who take Blood will experience a period of heightened mental and physical functions. The rush that goes to the head is pleasurable and seemingly takes away all worries. This Blood is either collected from captured elementals. users who have bound to it, or specialized growers who can create large amounts of it. Though the Blood drug is used in battle to improve actions, it is extremely popular among the poor and downtrodden. The stimulant itself is nice, but the carefree high one gets off of it is what makes it wonderful for those who suffer. If more Blood is taken than the body can properly absorb, than they shall develop a Blood addiction. This usually results in a desperate need for more Blood, each dose needing to be stronger and purer than the last. Eventually the addict will overdose upon Blood and become a Vampire. Vampires personify the Blood and have many of their daily needs replaced with the thirst for Blood. While other species still need their Four Humors and nutrients, a Vampire can live solely off Blood. The draw back is that the other three Humors do not replenish them or give them strength, and thus they solely need Blood. If no Blood is available, a Vampire can actually starve to death when surrounded by stores of food.
(Strong Against: Black Bile - Weak To: Yellow Bile, Alkahest - Resistant To: Black Bile)
Phlegm - Phlegm is the calm and slow of the four fluids. It is created in the brain. This fluid resides within the head, and brings forth the peace and clarity. Those who have chosen Phlegm as the fluid to bind with are usually calm, thoughtful and slow to anger. They take a reverence to knowledge and strive towards the path of peace. Not all Phlegm users are pacifists, but they all are slower to violence than the other Humors. Phlegm is the fluid of healing, and can be taken or applied to wounds. It promotes quick recovery and closing of injuries, and is the go to fluid for healers. When combined with Blood, the resulting effects can get even the most battered warriors back on their feet and back into the heat of battle. Phlegm that is used for healing is drawn from either captured elementals, the healers themselves, or from specialized growers who can create large amounts of it. Though not as addicting as Blood, Phelgm can also be abused as a drug. Those who want the numbing effect it has or those who have ravaged their bodies to the extreme can overdose on it. Phlegm is capable of healing even the severest wounds, but it requires so much of it that the patient usually has to be submerged in it. This is a guarantee for overdosing, and those who take too much will become a Zombie. Zombies are still functioning people, but they have lost the ability to feel pain or naturally heal. Wounds that are not treated with Phlegm will never close, no matter how small. On the other hand, Zombies are capable of taking extreme amounts of punishment and injuries without dying. Decapitated Zombies can still think and talk as if nothing ever happened, and a Zombie that is blown to bits can be put back together if there are enough pieces left. The issue, though, is that the more Phlegm used to put themselves back together will continue to affect their minds, slowly deadening their thoughts until they become blissfully unaware of the world around them. Zombies who do not wish to turn into mindless fools usually will just stitch themselves back together and avoid the Phelgm treatment. These Zombies are usually missing chunks and pieces, and may take some parts from other people or Zombies.
(Strong Against: Yellow Bile - Weak To: Black Bile, Alkahest - Resistant To: Yellow Bile)
Yellow Bile - Yellow Bile is the fiery and explosive of the four fluids. It is created within the liver. This fluid is the restless drive that that fuels motivation and anger. Those who bind with Yellow Bile will often be courageous and happy to lead, but will have short tempers. This explosive fluid is what drives people within battle and life, giving them the strength to live and fight. Yellow Bile users are quick to anger and can go off at the slightest thing if they are consumed by it enough. In society, Yellow Bile is the fuel that runs the machines and lights their homes. Its explosive, burning properties allow it to be used for a number of things. With the right chemicals, Yellow Bile can be ignited into a bright, slow burning light. Lamps are filled with stores of Yellow Bile and have igniters to light the fuel. It is the fluid that drives motors and machinery, combining with Blood at times to create a powerful fuel that drives cities. It is also used commonly within weaponry, as its explosive nature makes it perfect for bombs and cannons. Guns are fueled by Yellow Bile and fire off explosive shots of the volatile fluid. This fluid is harvested from captured elementals, or created by bound users and specialized growers. This burning liquid is occasionally added to drinks and food to give an extra bit of pop and sizzle to the meal. This is only in minute amounts, as Yellow Bile is not safe to consume in large quantities. Those who consume too much of it (usually by straight up drinking it) will become Ghouls. These creatures are unlike Zombies and Vampires, who are still sentient and aware. Ghouls are feral creatures, and will thirst for more Yellow Bile. The sheer amount of the fluid within their bodies make them volatile and liable to explode at any time.
(Strong Against: Blood - Weak To: Phlegm, Ichor - Resistant To: Blood)
Black Bile - The more serious and analytical of the Four Humors. Black Bile is created within the spleen. This fluid is what gives the body thought and questioning, creating the thirst for knowledge and progress that drives civilization. Those who bind with Black Bile are serious and observant, following their tasks without question and always stopping to think of answers to dilemmas they face. Those who have fully bound themselves with the fluid can be deadpan and immune to humor or jokes. In society, Black Bile is used in the creation of Golems, a race of liquid creatures that are used as servants, workers and guards. By combining Black Bile with willing flesh and specialized runes, they can create beings that live to follow orders and take on tasks. Golems can come in all different shapes and sizes, depending on the runes used and the mission they are built for. Certain Golems are given special doses of other Humors in order to give them more flexibility in their programming and actions. This is mainly seen in Golems used for police work or enforcing the law, allowing them to think so that they can compete with the criminals. Black Bile is also used as a storage of knowledge and data. Within machinery used for recording, users are hooked up to reserves of Black Bile, which copies their thoughts and wisdom. This same Black Bile can transfer its knowledge through link up, or in a pinch, can be injected straight into the body. Linking up to the Black Bile allows multiple people to use its knowledge, but injecting it is a one use method. This storage of knowledge is what helps program Golems and give them their orders. Some have even tried copying entire personalities into Black Bile and animating it into a Golem, all in efforts of creating a copy or granting some kind of immortality. This never really works the way people expect. Small amounts of memory and feeling can be added into Golems to make them more personable and friendly. Golems made of pure, unchanged Black Bile hardly think for themselves and just follow orders of those they are programmed to obey. Black Bile can be harvested from elementals but it is mainly pulled from specialized Golems who are made solely to produce more Black bile. Black Bile is not addictive or used for drug purposes, but it to can be overdosed upon. Those who choose to consume massive quantities (for what purpose, no one is quite sure) will become Wraiths. These creatures become like the Golems, set upon certain missions and never deviating from them. What results from this conversion is a wet, slimy creature that is trapped on a single mission. Their goals depend on what desires and wants they had before they overdosed. Some come out with the desire to protect loved ones, or to right some wrong they once did. Others can come out seeking revenge or destruction, angered at their moment of death against someone who wronged them. Wraiths will work to complete this mission relentlessly, only stopping when destroyed or the goal is met. When a Wraith finishes its task, it usually will melt away in content, its unfinished business finally over.

The Two Godly Fluids - (Extremely Rare!)
Ichor - Ichor is the fluid of life, the blood of gods. It is the liquid that has created the world, and it is what flows within the Golden River. Ichor is worshiped by the people of the world, and seen as an embodiment of their god. Ichor is the combination of all the Humors, but in a way that man cannot easily achieve. True Ichor can only be found in the Golden River, while impure Ichor can be crafted and made. True Ichor is what creates gods, and is said to have a mind of its own. Man made Ichor has none of that. Ichor is capable of doing any of the things the Four Humors can. The one issue with that is the fact that Ichor is extremely toxic to all living things. Ichor is way too powerful for any mortal to handle, its effects capable of destroying the body and mind. The strength and power it can give mortals is too much for the body to contain, and consumers will literally pull themselves apart just trying to walk. Its toxicity is seen as the sign of sin or impurity within all mortals. Only gods or the truly pure could handle the effects of Ichor. If one takes Ichor and is killed by it, it is seen that they were sinners and unfit for such gifts. Since it is deadly, Ichor is only really used as an object of worship. It is held within sealed orbs and containers that are used within the temples and cathedrals. It is never handled, it is just there to see and pray to.
Ichor is capable of mixing with the Four Humors, but will poison them as the fusion goes on. The beasts and people who fuse with Ichor must do so sparingly, or else it will burn through their systems and overload their bodies. Alkahest, though, is incapable of mixing with Ichor, as the two will explode violently when coming in contact with one another.
(Strong Against: Yellow Bile, Black Bile, Alkahest - Weak To: Alkahest - Resistant To: Blood, Phlegm
Alkahest - Alkahest is essentially the anti-Ichor, a fluid that destroys all life. Alkahest is capable of eating its way through practically any material, dissolving it away to a puddle of silver gunk. It's destructive nature makes it extremely rare in the wild, with most examples of Alkahest actually being crafted by man. Alkahest is impossible to bind with, as it will eventually eat away at the user. To many, Alkahest is the representation of death, and is an evil fluid that is incapable of being used for good. The only reason Alkahest is ever made is for the use in weapons. These weapons are extremely rare, as Alkahest is difficult to make and safely carry. On its own, it will eat its way through the tool and render it useless. Special devices must be made to keep it suspended and away from materials to consume. Since many people see it as a destructive, cruel fluid, those who use the weapons are usually seen as corrupted and blasphemers of the Four Humors.
Alkahest is capable of mixing with the Four Humors, but will slowly eat away at them as the fusion goes on. The beasts and people who fuse with Alkahest must do so sparingly, or else it shall devour them. Ichor, though, is incapable of mixing with Alkahest, as the two will explode violently when coming in contact with one another.

-----------------------------------------------------------------
Holy crap this thing took forever to write, so forgive any errors you may find. This guy was tough to do. Also, I have changed some things for the Four Humors. Yes I know the organs of origins are different from what sources say, but I felt that things needed to be switched up a little. The strengths and weaknesses were best that I could come up with for them, and I think they fit. This system would be the backbone of the world and would be the elements used mainly in Fall of Ichor.
More entries to come eventually, but I got to take a break for now.

What if you drank a huge (but equal) amount of 2 humors (excluding ichor and alkahest)?

It depends. If you consume a humor that is strong against the other humor you consume, its effects will overpower it. If you consume humors that can coexist with each other (like Yellow Bile and Black Bile), then you would get both effects. One issue to watch out for, though, is your tolerance levels for certain humors. If you have already consumed large quantities of Blood throughout your past and drink Blood and Phlegm together, the effects of the Blood would be diluted, but your chance of overdosing on it would be elevated.
And I also imagine drinking large amounts of two humors would lead to a pretty upset stomach.

What if you ended up overdosing on two humors that can coexist at the same time?

Then you would wind up as a malformed, unstable fusion of the two. Though the two humors can coexist, overdoses essentially means that the humor itself is taking over your body and rewiring your biology. They would essentially be competing with each other to try and change the human form into the appropriate creature, but once one started altering things, the other would try to write over it. Overdosing on Yellow Bile and Black Bile would mean the Black is trying to turn you into a Wraith while the Yellow is trying to make you a Ghoul all at the same time. It would be a battle between them, and the outcome would be transforming into a horribly formed fusion of both, which wouldn't be pleasant at all.
