Description here's the same design only with a penciled gradients and textures instead of the god awful rush job last time.

Much nicer. 'cept maybe too dark and contrasty down by the feets, mayhaps?

well there will be very few shots except perchance when the enter stage that they're in full shot, but i get ya yeah., just gotta do a mockup of some of the proper backgrounds and probably some more tweaking between them after that. you reckon the whole texture thing works okay? it's like each texture is keyed to correspond to a particular colour in the colour model thus when the arm moves it operates like an alpha channel over the texture displaying the texture but the texture remains static behind it. haven't actually done a test to see if this is possible but i will at some point. theoretically it's sound. but it might be too awkward frame by frame....

Yeah, the texture is cool but I might suggest to subtle-alise it slightly. I know what you mean about still texture beneath the animation, but I'm not convinced it'd look all that hot. ....just my opinion, I think it looks kinda strange. Let me know, though.

yeah twill probably look quite distracting on screen. i'm doing some animation test today and i'll see how it goes
