my! Now I'm jealous! He has very pretty stuff indeed, i especially love the watercolour he did of the docks when he was 16. the reflections in the water are just so beautiful. there's kind of a linear quality even to his painting, it's quite amazing really

Yeah. I'm not so crazy about his oil paintings. There was one of them on the exhibition as well, but it was his watercolours that took my breath away. Especially his studies of women!

OH the women! Mwuah! c'est Magnifique! The way he contructs them on the page with the contours and his use of perspective. I got myself a wee taschen book of his stuff at the start of the year as w treat. it really is delightful, and cheap too!
