Amongst all your Zoo-sketches this one really touches me. The simplicity of your linework in this one goes so well with the sad feelings the drawing conjures ... *sigh*

it was like one of the first sketches i did there, but she was so sad, just tapping her hand off of the wood of the climbing frame looking down. her pose kinda reminded me of Egon Schiele's poses, in that there's something slightly neurotic and off about it, with the hunched back and the intertwined arms. My pleasure. To me it feel awkward to look at primates in a zoo. It just doesn't feel right to me to keep them that way. But it seems to be the only way to preserve species on a long term scale ...

well ya know it's the guilt we feel for keeping them locked up that makes us feel that way, but it's the guilt we feel for destroying them and their homes that makes us lock them up in the first place to keep them 'safe' from reality. It's a very frustrating thing, but eh, such is life.
