Advertisement for class project for Hotels.com...it had to feature at least 4 or 5 different countries. I struggled with this one for a while, but eventually settled on the concept of couples dancing :>Related content

I like this one a lot. I like how it's a seamless, wrapping image. Every couple are in different colors and obviously different ethnicities, very natural dancing poses and appropriate outfits. I especially love the twirling red skirt on the Spanish dancer. The flowing ribbons are a nice touch that give the whole thing the illusion of movement. The background and stage is well done, not too much detail to distract from the dancers, but very convincing.
The ONLY thing I would change would be the two male dancers' who's faces are hidden... even if this is what would happen in real life still photos, and certainly might look more natural, sometimes an artist should adjust the reference a bit, take a little license... it almost looks like you "cheated" by covering one guy's face with dreadlocks and the other guy's eyes with his female partner's arm. TEN people is a LOT to draw for one art piece and I think it's very well executed, but you obviously have no problem drawing faces... so draw them!

It's easy to do when it's an "assignment" and not something you're "inspired" to do... especially when you're pressed for time. As artists, we take short cuts. It happens. I've done it. Keep drawing!
