Description
EDIT 1/16/14: Almost FIVE YEARS since I've uploaded this.. I've finally hit 1k faves! Hope it's been helpful!
Just a note, I've noticed some pictures of those who have done the tutorial and I'm seeing a pattern in accidentally having the fur go the wrong way on the ears. Make sure you get the fur fibers running toward the *pointed end* of the ear.. not toward the base. The pointy end of your ear should be seam ripped thus giving it a nice fluffy look at the ends!

If you look at the second picture, the left and right sides fold toward each other. The top is the pointy side of the ear. The bottom is the curved edge that rests against the head.
Hope that helps!

The craft fur and felt were bought at Joanns. I'd recommend craft fabric fur rather than the craft fur sheets you can buy. The fabric has a stronger weave and feels nicer.

oAo Recon this'd work on real hair? Or ya recon it'd slip out? What if the hair had spray in it that made it, ya know, stiff-ish..? Or thick hair?
Wonderful tut

On real hair you'd need a different way of attaching them. I'd wager a thin headband may work. I have to wear a wig so I only factored making them work with the wig wefts in mind.
And, thanks! ^__^

I got it to sit in my hair with two bendy clips at the tips of each ear (at each end of the "U" shape) and one bobby pin at the very back of the "U" and that worked rather well Maybe 2 bobby pins would make it even sturdier for use on normal hair
Thanks again!

I think these ears would work especially well on a full fursuit.. if you just sewed them on the headwear once complete. I still haven't figured a good way to put these on a headband.. I could actually use some pointers if you have them!

well for headband what i do is get a relatively thick one nout inch and a half to two inch wide, keep the full width at the point where the ears will go this gives the ears a good wide base to hold onto (best way to make the ears is before puting on the felt and wire start with a plastic mesh base that way you can put a strip on the bottom to glue to the headband)
as for the middle at the top of the head, get a cutting dremmel and shave down the plastic headband until it is bout half an inch wide that way you can style your hair over it to hide it
hope this makes sense if not dont worry im planning a youtube tutorial for them

Stick up how so? I twisted a pair of 16g craft wire and put in the middle of a stuffed tube of craft fur essentially.. It safety pins on my pants.

At least with the craft wire core, you can form it somewhat.

haha, you can use whatever you want! I used bobby pins just because I didn't want to use a headband.. I'm sure if you can get them to fit right, then go for it!~
