Mm, I can understand why he might like to keep it closed. There's a lot of good reasons out there and I'll leave all that up to him, as the preference differs dev to dev.

Cool logo, I love it. It's got that dark tone that I'm digging and is nice and simple, without being underdone, drawing focus to itself. The style behind it really draws me in, especially since I'm a bit of a sci-fi buff, and makes me want to see more.
In short, a fantastic logo.
I like what I'm seeing of the game so far in the world, characters, style. I'd love to see a section on the site dedicated to concept art and stuff. I'm not sure where you guys stand on development methods, but it would be real cool if you guys stayed really open about it.
Overgrowth, developed by Wolfire Games, is completely open. If you've preordered it then you get access to the Alpha build that David Rosen releases each week. It's a great method and has already built a great fan base that can provide input, bug reports and thought-out suggestions before the game has hit beta. You can talk to the devs on their IRC and it's just a fantastic philosophy.
Not telling you all what to do, but I am saying that I love the benefits of that road. It really builds faith with your community and will form a nice, tight bond with them.

The reason why we are so secret about this game, that's the founder's idea, no so sure why, but I'll try to upload the stuff I'm doing as much as I can, like I uploaded this logo
