Journey to the Heavens

Sunlight escaped through the leaves of a tree. Several apples lay on the ground. A young girl, with dirty blond hair and brown eyes hid behind the trunk of the small tree, covering her face with her knees. She clutched her stomach that ached and burned.
“It will all go away.”
The girl jumped in shock to find a boy. His hair was an unusual silver color.
“E-excuse me?” the girl asked.
“The names Grale,” the boy smiled at her, holding out a hand. “What is yours?” He asked. She took his hand, pulling herself to her feet; she managed to utter her name, “Lily, my names Lily.”

There was no way to reach him at this rate. Lily spread her arms out that simultaneously turned into feathered wings. She erupted in flames and tore through the air at an amazing speed. The air got colder as she rose through the atmosphere. Finally Grale was in sight, she caught onto his leg.
Screaming at him “STOP IT, STOP IT RIGHT NOW!”
He couldn’t hear her. She could see his leg but the rest of his body was in the clouds. She yanked him down and stared into his face. He was frozen! She stopped in mid-air, grasped his body into a tight hug and immediately dropped. Plundering through several layers of the Earth’s atmosphere, the ice started to break off. Their bodies turned into a ball of flames striking upward. Lily still holding onto Grale crashed into a valley in the earth creating a large crater.
The moonlight that same day glistened on the walls of the crater. Lily crawled towards Grale’s body. He was pale and blue. His veins were visible through the transparent skin. Grasping his head in her arms she silently cried. Tears running down his hair, she managed to give him a last good bye when he gasped and twitched violently for a second. During that time, she was relieved but then disappointed. She stood up, and left his body as it burned to ash.
