So when I'm not drawing aliens I like to work on fantasy worlds. It's nice to take a break from scifi every once and a while.Related content

Definitely can see it, the desert atmosphere and mysterious ruins and all. I unfortunately haven't been able to play Journey, but it looks awesome!

I'm vaguely reminded of the obelisks found in the creature stage of Spore and the discovery of the grounded Khartoba ship in the introductory sequence of Homeworld, though this is much more visually appealing than the former

The birds here are a little large in comparison to the structures, but it was a speed sketch so I wasn't really paying that much attention. The birds ARE quite large though. Sandbird is the name of the place as well as a bird who lives there, the birds or quite ancient and knowledgeable, which is why people will journey to them. Only if they seek certain life paths though, and different paths lead to different birds.

I am developing story for this at the moment, I plan on using one of the characters in a writing/roleplay sort of event I'm going to with a bunch of friends. This world is part of a mythology I developed, there are multiple realms...universe...thingees. I'll polish up a decent description and post it sometime.
