Description
Originally, this was an attempt at drawing Autumn at her slimmest, but in a way that makes her more of a dynamic character with a different hairstyle and more energy. By the time drawing was actually (mostly) finished, she looked so different I decided to just make her a different character. Her energy as well as her originally being Autumn made me feel like Summer was an appropriate name. This also gave me plans to do a Spring and Winter as well. Might as well just have all the seasons, right?Anyway, I feel like I did an alright job with her. Hands and feet have never been my strong suit, though. And the face looks a little... off. I went back to redo it right at the end, then didn't notice how off it was until after I had inked her. Let me know what you think! ^_^
(And if you want to see her bigger, don't worry, it will happen.

Hey way to think like an artist. You made your first attempt of drawing a slimmer Autumn into a different character when things didn't work out. What's more this gave you a new idea to make more characters based off the four seasons. I'm impressed by your idea. Now this character Summer looks very nice. I mean based off her pose she has the positive energy and a smile to brighten someone's day. I think you did good drawing the hands and shoes, but the arms and legs are the one's that need attention. See her forearms are too long. They are supposed to be shorter than her upper arms. Her legs and even her entire lower body looks smaller than her upper body. I think they should be a little taller or a little bigger. Also I think her face is fine, but she needs ears if you're going to have her in that hairstyle. I like this character of yours, and I hope to see more.

I always love your comments. They're very informative in telling both what I did right and what I did wrong. Looking back over her, I see what you're talking about with the long forearms. I get focused on one thing I think is wrong then fail to notice stuff that actually is wrong because of it. But I did notice the lower body looked small beforehand. However, it felt like every time I tried to make it larger, it would look out of place. The hips, particularly. But I do agree they look small at the moment. And yeah, I was already so used to not drawing ears, I managed to forget about their existence haha.
Thank you for the feedback! I'll make sure to incorporate it into future drawings. Not just of Summer, but of every other character I draw as well, when applicable. ^_^

Your welcome. I'm just trying to help you improve. On one hand it's good to take drawing something one piece at a time such as the head, the arms, the legs, etc. However when you are finished you have to take a look at your finished drawing as a whole and then go back to observing the parts of the whole like a puzzle. Now if making the lower body bigger makes it look odd then just try making the legs longer. It might help even things out. Also for ears start by making a little oval on each side of the head and there you go your character has ears. Otherwise all your characters are going to have to have hairstyles that cover their ears.
I can't wait to see how you apply my advice to your other drawings.
