More of the Oasis at Disney's Animal Kingdom. I feel that too many people really rush through this to get to the actual park. Understandably so but still. The Oasis is a beautifully lush and diverse part of the park that really serves as a portal into the amazing world you are about to enter. This is the part of the park that seems to act as the divider between the outside world/rest of Disney and the park. It's one of the main reasons why I really feel disconnected from the world when I'm at Animal Kingdom!
It's a wonderful beginning to the adventure and an invaluable part of the park. 
The Oasis is called such because it is meant to be an Oasis of life. Just as the desert Oasis so commonly thought of serves as a refuge and a spot of life in the arid landscape, here the Oasis is meant to be a focusing and celebration of all the life in the world, animal and plant, though mainly plants. It's remarkably beautiful and is worth slowing down as you go through both on your way in and way out of the park.
