Description From: Noah Stanford - June 14 2016
To: Terry Rosewood
Subject: Panacea "breakthrough"

Yeah yeah, you're a frickin genius. The latest T-virus strain we tried strengthened the Panacea Parasites to survive outside of deep sea conditions. We're no longer stuck using the pressure chamber.

And, yes, from initial results it seems that as long as the eggs remain in the host, those miracle antibodies the stinger kickstarts will protect them from any infection - even the T-virus. Champagne and caviar for everyone, you're sure to become the next head researcher for Phanes Incorporated!

There's just this one, tiny, itty bitty little downside.

Instead of a small organism injecting eggs into the back of something's neck just below the skin, the new T-type parasites jam their stingers through the hosts' skulls and LAY THEIR EGGS DIRECTLY INSIDE THE BRAIN!!! For some reason they prefer to do it through the oral cavity, and no, keeping the mouths shut doesn't help: the T-type stingertips are strong enough to pierce solid bone. Knocking out teeth is no problem for them. The numbing venom is drastically more potent as well.

"Gosh Noah, who could have predicted using a weaponized mutagenic virus on a unique parasite with unprecedented antiviral properties could have unintended consequences? If only a fellow researcher had pointed out - loudly and repeatedly - the dangers of my idea. It just looked so good on paper!"

You really think the FDA is going to approve ANY treatment that includes the words "parasite," "ovipositor," and "brain" in the same sentence?

We'll leave the eggs in to see how long it takes for them to hatch and how bad this is for the hosts, but frankly I don't see how the larva will be able to leave the skull.

Wow that's so creepy and awesome!  Ridley Scott and Giger would be proud.  This could easily be used as cover art for a high budget sci-fi movie.  This one really shows off your talent for aesthetics.  I love the x-ray like background with that
transparency.  Fantastic render.
