Description Sarah's experience with the church was... mixed. Many were more interested in pointing out her problems than helping her, and even when she found ones who actually cared she was never able to stay for long. But  she had gotten good at telling the tolerable ones from the ones who felt it was their sacred duty to treat her like garbage. One way was to walk on the grass instead of the sidewalk. If somebody pitched a fit because she was "ruining the landscaping" she'd find no relief there. As she passed by the well a powerful scent caught in her nostrils. She paused while a lone priest noticed her and started in her direction. It looked like he was planning on cutting across the grass too, which meant he didn't have religious objections to human beings walking on grass.
Before either of them said anything, however, something came out of the well. A bunch of somethings. They moved faster than Sarah could have believed possible, long wet limbs, like that of a squid but lacking suckers, that encircled various parts of her body with a grip like iron. She barely had time to think in dismay "But I just got these clothes" before she was yanked head first down the well.

It's been awhile since I've rendered a woman being dragged by a tentacle to her implied doom. But there's a Part 2 that I should have up tomorrow - maybe it doesn't turn out so bad for her after all!
This is set in my own little original slice of the Resident Evil/Biohazard universe, which I hope to expand upon.

Resident Evil is owned by Capcom, I think. Do I even need to mention that because this is theoretically in the same universe? I suppose anything with a T-virus monster needs to mention Capcom, since the T-Virus may or may not be trademarked or owned by Capcom. So yeah, Capcom, go buy their games and stuff. But don't tell me what happens in Resident Evil 6 because I haven't played that one yet.

He's gonna need a lot chlorine and bleach to fix that.  I really like the lighting and pose work on this one.   Her shadow being cast on the well somehow makes the scene more dramatic.  I say that as if giant tentacles from a well grabbing someone wasn't already dramatic.  Your sense of aesthetics and your story telling skills seem to translate very well into the resident evil universe.  Great job on this one.

I am so glad you said something about the shadow. I played around with the lighting quite a bit to get the shadow like that, testing to see how it looked sharper or softer and at what angle would work best. I thought that the tentacle posing would be the hardest part of the scene, but while I had to make some minor adjustments in many places, the overall shape of the tentacles around her were mostly happenstance, and in fact turned out more intricate and better than I had originally planned. I am especially happy that one tentacle naturally went behind her left knee, because it solved a problem with the V4 Domino jacket on a G2 fig that makes the flaps conform like pants instead of dangling free.
The lighting ended up taking almost as much time, mostly because it wasn't obvious what to do to fix some of the problems. The priest in particular was difficult to illuminate and I had to keep moving him and adding additional lights, because without enough light to see his facial expressions it looked like he was summoning the creature. Aside from that however, this was a lot of fun to do.

This is what will happen, if you will not clean the well regularly!

Hahaha! In one of the earlier drafts I wrote of the text to go along with the image, the priest actually noticed that the rope and bucket were missing from the well. My initial drafts were several times longer though, so I axed that part when I chose to go with a quick blurb instead of a short story.
