Description
So about a month ago, I watched The Brave Little Toaster for the first time. It was really good!! c: I loved how raw and real the characters felt -- there was just a certain sense of emotional progression that I didn't expect at all, and of course I adored how dark the film could be in general. :v I meant to practice drawing them in their canonical forms as well, but I never got around to it sfjbshdbh
I haven't seen the sequels, but I think they're on youtube, so soonnnnn
(The Brave Little Toaster belongs to Disney, art and human designs are mine.)

SO funny, I was looking at the designs and I really got the Tim Schafer vibe from them, it was funny when I looked at your gallery and actually saw that you were a fellow Psychonauts fan.
Because of the crazy designs the Tim Schafer style allows I have to say these are probably the most accurate and closely fitting designs I could see being made for the Toaster and gang. I just love how the style allows them to be human but still keep so many of their appliance features. Please dont feel like I'm giving Tim all the credit here though, it might be somewhat a take on his drawing style, but it was YOU who had the skills to take that and have it work so well with these characters:
I love how Toaster, Lampy, and Kurby literally have the same shape as their heads do on their appliance form. Making human Lampy literally having a big nose and that short ponytail mimicking his switch was just genius! I really love how you worked in Kurby's mouth into a mustache like that.. so cool.
Oh and don't think I didn't notice Radios head is basically the exact shape of his body in appliance form. ; ) Very cleaver!
Blanky don't get me wrong, I like his design here, though its definitely the least new looking of the humanizations I've seen compared to your others. Blanky seems to have been the easiest to humanize with all the other fan humanizations I've seen. A cute little boy wearing a cape/blanket and with a red nose.. he's just kinda easy to humanize am I right?

Wow, thank you for taking the time to write such a huge comment!! c:
I'm glad that Psychonauts comes to mind when looking at my stuff, even when it's not Psychonauts-related, because that game (and Tim Schafer in general) really inspires me and has rubbed off on my work a lot. I'm also glad that you found the human designs to be so fitting to the characters! Whenever I humanize characters, I always try to keep as close to their original silhouettes as possible (thus Kirby's mustache) while still making them look human. I stretched Lampy a little in the human department though, because his nose is so huge he looks kinda silly, but any smaller and it didn't really look like him.
Yeah, I wanted to do more with Blanky but he's already the most human-looking of the appliances as he is, so there wasn't much wiggle room without changing his original design too much. :s
Thanks again for the feedback and compliments!!! ;o;

Oh pfft, I'm sure you get tons of 'em! ^^
I would be too, being inspired by his work has really seemed to allow you to create some truly unique and original looking characters. I myself struggle with doing any designs that are weird or crazy looking which is a shame because they're definitely more interesting and amusing to look at! I'm definitely a bit envious that that comes so natural for you.
Ah hah, that sounds like a very sound principle, stick to the original silhouette and you're in business. I believe I heard from the commentary in Team Fortress 2 how big a role a characters silhouette plays. Aw Lampy looks fine, especially in a a Tim Schafer style, if Benny in Psychonauts can have ears as big as his head, then Lampy can surely have a nose as big as his. XD Funny, looking at human Kurby now, he looks like a sailor. XD
Yes true true, Blanky already looks pretty much like a little boy wrapped up in a sleeping bag or something. XD
You're VERY welcome Exploding man.

Wow! These are really cool designs! I love how stylistic and true to character they are. TBLT happens to be my all time favorite movie, so I love finding quality fanart.

Thank you so much, I'm glad you like them!!
I like drawing things for movies and such that don't have a lot of fanart because usually (like in this case) they deserve a lot more love than they get! c:

I agree. TBLT has been slowly getting a lot of fans over the years. The fandom on this site maybe on the smallish side, but we're pretty tight. There have been fan sequels, fan characters, and lots of backstory work for some of the background characters. My friend ~Half-dude has some particularly amazing work featuring the junkyard cars.
