Description I declare a fan war

oºoºoºoºo

A bazooka so that I may blast all the obnoxious fangirls away~

Also known as a canon cannon.

Most (keyword: most) fangirls annoy the crap out of me...they feel like they need to prove to the world that they like something, they have a habit of drawing themselves with the characters they like, or drawing slash of two characters, and they're just...creepy in general. They're like zombies. They want one thing, and the whole world has to know it.

When I was a fangirl I kept it to myself. Man, the hormonalness hurt, but I didn't announce it to the world and act like I'm a bigger fan than everybody else. I may have kissed my computer screen, but I didn't post pictures or go blog about it later >.>

And now the fangirls have invaded something special to me...and they act like they're such huge-ass fans...and it just makes me want to blow them up. : D (Three guesses as to what I'm referring to.) I don't like fangirls in general, and I just want all the new ones to gtfo of my fandom D:<

So I drew this. The background looked different in my mind. I'm not sure what I could do to fix it :/ I like the rest of it a lot though...I tried something new : D

That orange seared my eyes while I was working on it.

everything is © me and all that. Don't steal/copy

Oh and about the title...I think I/we may have started a war with a group of obnoxious fangirls...but...they're just AWFUL. DX

Slash = BAD NEWS. Especially when its slash pairings that you know would NEVER happen. y'know, its one thing to slash two characters who are friends and who if you twist your imagination enough you might actually be able to see a 1% chance of it happening... but when they slash two characters who actually hate each others guts, that's even more deranged. I also hate it when they slash two characters where one of them is married or whatever. WHY DO IT? I don't get why someone would disrespect the characters they love (or say they love) to such a degree! XD

I used to get incredibly angry about slash but these days it doesn't effect me anymore... I think I have become immune to it after seeing so many. XD

As for proclaiming to be the biggest fan of something, that's just a pointless task. lol especially since you know a fangirl will probably forget this fandom when the next cool thing comes along.

Aaaaanyway, as I was going to say before your rant inspired me to rant in kind :b this picture looks great. I love the orange tones, and the shading is absolutely lovely. The blue/purple tones amongst the orange really add depth, the choice of colour makes it a fine line between pleasant and eyesore - usually I would say that this detracts from the artwork, but in this case I think it adds to it really well, because uncomfortable viewing is what you are going for here right? : D The design of the character looks great too, I love his goggles, and his hairy animal legs.

Blegh, sorry to write so much! Hope you don't mind my going off on one... XD

In my case...it's slash between two VERY STRAIGHT characters. Like...it's painfully obvious how straight they are. And they're best friends, but best friends does not equal lovers DX TWO DIFFERENT THINGS.

You know, I can handle it if it's only implied, and the art is actually good. But when is like, one character on top of the other, that's just...stupid and unoriginal. Like if you're going to pair them at least try and seem like art and not soft porn. This site is for art.

I'm mostly angry about slash because this is not an anime fandom, where that kind of behavior is more...abundant. This is something that usually adults like. And I don't like it when people bring childish behavior to the fandom.

They're not outright saying that they're the biggest fan, but they sure are trying to convince people of it. They're trying to act like they're a HUGE fan, so big that you couldn't compete with how much they love it. You know? And that makes me angry, because I don't feel the need to compete with them unless they already feel that way >.> I know I really love it and I don't need to prove it to anyone. But THEY...they make me angry. Like a person with low self-esteem acting like they're better than you because it makes them feel good about themselves. You know?

Haha thanks, the orange was supposed to be kinda obnoxious...like...it's supposed to be intense like that XD Orange is said to make people angry or to represent anger or something like that. XD

And it's a girl wolf thing...with small boobs? XD Hence the weird tube top. I would think that hairy part-human things would need to wear clothes but would want to wear the least amount of them possible. XD I don't know. I've been in an anthro/furrything mood lately >.>

I appreciate the long comment actually, I knew I couldn't be the only one that felt that way. X)

What fandom is it if you don't mind my asking? And what characters?

I don't know, I find it even more disturbing when the artwork is really good, I think. When someone has clearly put a HUGE amount of effort into drawing an amazing picture... on completely out of character slash...it makes me shudder. XD on the other hand, really ugly slash is bad too. tbh.., is there ANY kind of slash that is actually good?

And why do they always slash characters who would NOT go together? lol, when I got into Torchwood, I was pleased, I thought "this is one fandom that no one will slash, because most of the characters are already in gay relationships." Hahah, then what? They slash the straight married woman with the gay man. WTF.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Like some people seem to think that being the 'ultimate' fan is their status symbol? So they have to try and shove in everyone's faces how much of a big fan they are. I am a big fan of many things, but I don't feel the need to shove it in everyone's face. After all I don't watch a show / play a videogame / enjoy a series of books PURELY so that people will look up to me. XD I enjoy these things...for the sake of enjoyment! (And I would hope that if I ever started to turn into the idiot type of fan someone would smack my head in)

eheh, glad you liked the long comment... i think most people are a bit timid to give them (in general) but I tend to run away with comments XP

Star Trek XD! Doesn't that one seem like you couldn't really slash it? That's why it freaks me out so much )X

Well for me, if the art itself is at least good, then I can sort of...look past the slash...because I feel that if you're going to support something controversial, you might as well go all the way with it. Don't just make a bunch of scribbles that are eyesores on top of the slash.

Maybe they slash the characters like that because it never would happen normally? Like...they squee internally whenever the show hints at something, but since the show isn't hinting at all with this pair, they have to do it themselves...or something. I don't know. I don't like non-canon pairs at all, unless it's REALLY implied in the show/book/movie/etc. >.>

Yeah...if you have or have done everything in your fandom, like read the books and play the games and all that...if you did that just to say that you did, then you're not that big of a fan at all. :/ Bah. I don't know. I like Star Trek in a way that I can't prove it to the world. Like, it's not just a show for me. And it just makes me angry when people want to try and fight about it on a different level, like having read all the books and done all the whatever...but that's just not what I like about it. Does that make sense? I'm not into so much of the fan-tarding like they are.

Ahhhh I thought it might be. I've seen plenty of it. So which pair is rattling you, is it Kirk/Spock, or Chekov/Sulu? Or some other pairing that would never happen? Since you said there isn't even a hint in the show... I'm gonna guess at McCoy/Spock.

Slashing a pair that would never normally go together just seems incredibly disrespectful to me. It's like saying "I don't like the way these characters were written so I am going to rewrite them myself and change them into something I DO like." :E

I've kind of become immune to the Star Trek slash. For one thing it only seems to be n00bs who come up with it XD who think they are clever, for knowing what Pon Farr means, or whatever. Who saw the movie, liked it, and THEN watched all the episodes retrospectively, and claimed to be the biggest fan because they have seen them all. NOT that there is anything wrong with watching a series retrospectively, BUT if you do it that way, then you're always gonna be a n00b heheh. XD XD One thing I've notice with the n00b fans, is that they ALWAYS draw the main characters (Kirk, Spock etc) using the movie actors as a model, rather than the originals. I think a long time fan would always favor the original.

I love star trek and have fan characters and stuff, but it is all in the name of fun. I know that there are and always will be bigger trekkies out there, and that's okay XD I don't need to decorate my house to look like the starship enterprise in order to prove my undying love for the series. If I really wanted to prove it, I wouldn't do it by drawing slash and being generally annoying... I'd do it by buying a bat'leth... and using it ;D

So, it is one particular person who is annoying you, or several people? I'd like to take a look at their galleries, if you don't mind sharing...? (you can always hide the comments if they are likely to start a flame war or something)

explodingmuffins In reply to the-lest [2009-08-17 23:41:05 +0000 UTC]

Well, I don't like any of the pairings, but the ones with Spock, Kirk, and/or McCoy are the worst. Spock/Kirk kinda bugs me the most though. They're best friends, and Kirk...really likes women >.>

Yeah...that's a good point! Wow, I'd never thought of that...I'm gonna use that argument now XD

I favor the original actors by FAR. I did love the movie, but I don't consider it canon. They practically said it wasn't canon in the movie. Gehh. The new fans who saw the movie first kinda make me angry because it took loads of action and young actors to bring them into the fanbase, rather than just liking the show itself...and also, watching the movie first will make them always prefer it because it's what they saw first. But really...there are people who claim to be huge fans now that made fun of Star Trek before! How messed up is that? Obviously they only like it for the action and the hot actors >.>

Hahaha Bat'leth XD Apparently somebody tried to rob a store with one of those once. But yeah...I'm really only bothered when they go overboard with the fan stuff...but even then it's not as bad as the new movie fans >.> The movie fans are the ones I'm having issues with. They're the ones going around and acting like big Trekkies when they're really not. They were at the convention too and I didn't see them there when Leonard Nimoy and William Shatner were on stage. And that...is such a huge fail DX

Well...it's a group of about three or four, but one of them is sort of the leader I guess you could say? My friend who's in this with me used to be friends with them, so she knows them a lot better than I do and I haven't actually butted heads with them myself yet. As much as I want to pwn them, I don't want to START a fight with them. They just annoy the crap out of me. I don't know if I should be spreading this to other people unless it really gets out of hand. I haven't seen slash from them yet, that's another group...but it still bothers me...but both groups go to our school and I run into them sometimes. This is why it's a problem...actually being around these people. Bah. You know what? I've been so pissed by the movie-fan group that I don't even care so much about the slashing group XD At least they can call themselves Trekkies, even if they do do creepy things.

Our conversation is becoming long. XD!

"The new fans who saw the movie first kinda make me angry because it took loads of action and young actors to bring them into the fanbase, rather than just liking the show itself...and also, watching the movie first will make them always prefer it because it's what they saw first."

Yeah, thats what I meant when I said "they will always be n00bs" but I couldn't think of the right words to describe it. I figured you'd understand what I meant, and you did

You know what else labels someone as a n00b or a "wannabe trekkie"? Complete and utter disinterest in the Klingons. When it comes to long term fans, I think its safe to say they are the most popular alien race (probably in all of scifi not just in star trek), but with n00bs it is all about Romulans and Vulcans and how cool THEY are. I almost get the feeling that some of them don't even know what a Klingon is. X3

IMO there is nothing wrong with enjoying the movie. But if your favourite thing about Star trek, is the newest movie, then you should say that you are a fan of this movie (and only this movie). Not try to pretend that you are a fan of all things trek! There is no shame in admitting this and nothing wrong with NOT trying to be a trekkie.

I've watched Star Trek on TV since I was a very small child, and it saddens me to find a fandom that i grew up with being raped by new fantards.

Aww, I would have loved to see Nimoy and Shatner. I got so excited when Nimoy was in the movie - I didn't know he was going to be in it until he came onto the screen! I nearly wet myself :b

Okay here's an idea for you. Get some Klingon insults, and use them on the wannabe-trekkies that you know. XD chances are they will have NO idea what you're saying. Eh, it might make you feel better?

Long conversations are good! (and, it's refreshing for me to find someone that feels the way I do... most of the star trek fans on here are the idiot kind we've been talking about)

Dude...I thought of that. The new fans wouldn't care about Klingons nor would most of them even know what they are. That is SO sad. The Klingons kick ass, literally and figuratively...and some of my friends that went and saw the movie are always asking about the Vulcans. Are there any Vulcans in TNG? What about the other series? And it's just like...dude...Spock is really the only interesting Vulcan at all. All the other ones actually are completely serious. Or they're asses. And the new fans also get confused with the Romulans because they're used to the ones with all those face tattoos O.o

Yeah I know...I don't care if they like the movie. I like the movie. It's when they call themselves Trekkies or say that they're totally into Star Trek now, that's what makes me angry. They should admit that they're really only interested in the movie. I don't see why they don't.

Yeah same here...I grew up with Voyager XD I remember a time when all the Voyager fans were the noobs >.> But I love all the rest of Trek too...it's just that Voyager was the one coming out with new episodes, and the others were before my time v.v I think the slash probably started there. Because most of the Trek fans that are my age started with Voyager and then probably went to TOS...and there's less women on TOS...I don't know.

Hahaha...I should walk up to them and be like YOUR MOTHER HAS A SMOOTH FOREHEAD >:C and then walk away. Or maybe YOU HAVE NO HONOR. Because that one actually kinda fits. Pff...the idea of loving Star Trek but not loving Klingons...that's just...ridiculous.

Actually I kinda hope the rest of the movies in the series don't have Klingons either so we can continue to trump the noobfans XD

Man I know. That's kinda why I drew this...I knew there had to be SOMEBODY out there who felt the same way! I was thinking of making one of those 'character is...' things...remember those? One for Spock, maybe one for Kirk...and going on Spock's would be HE DOES NOT LOVE UHURA. Because that grossed me out in the movie. There was no hinting of that at ALL in the series. Hahaha. Spock Is could bring in even more of our kind.

thlIngan Hol Dajatlh'a'?

I dunno, I really like Tuvok. But yeah, Vulcans are pretty boring, honestly of all the alien races, they are probably one of the LEAST interesting. They made a good plot device on TOS - it was always good to have Spock there to give his logic, and occasionally to see other vulcans, which in the 60's probably would have seemed really alien. But in todays day and age we've moved far beyond the concept of an alien race which simply lacks emotions... and Vulcans are just... pointless really. XD they are only significant because they're embedded in the story of Starfleet. Aside from that they cannot offer us much that is new.

Hahah, i thought it was kind of cool how the new Romulans had those shaven heads and tattoos, but I assumed it was just because they're part of some renegade group or whatever. The Romulan military wears a very recognisable uniform and hairstyle. But you can still tell that they're the same species! If you've invested the time in it!

For me the idea of not even knowing what a Klingon is, you might just as well say you don't know what Star Trek is. People who don't even like Star Trek know what Klingons are... chriiist.

Oh, and you know those people who only like the movie... will most likely forget all about Star Trek as soon as the next big thing comes along XD

Yeah, I don't see why they won't admit it. It's like saying that you really like a certain band or singer, but you don't have all the albums because you're not that big of a fan.

Thinking about it...Well, probably they HAVE found a new appreciation for the TV series after seeing the movie. So they think that is enough to qualify being a trekkie. Maybe they just like to think of themself that way becuse having a label is cool? (for me, I don't actually like to admit that I am a trekkie - not in public anyway... IRL people might make fun of me!)

Y'know, for them it is probably like seeing any movie, and then reading the book afterwards just so that you can understand it a little more. What they don't seem to appreciate is how massive and epic Star Trek really is! it makes me laugh, because if any of these fantards was to ever go to a real Star Trek convention I imagine they would be lost and totally out of their depth.

Ohhhh Voyager was my fav! I started watching it when when I was about 14 (I tuned in at season 2, I think) and watched it more religiously than any of the others. At the time I wasn't aware that the Voyager fans were being called n00bs, but hey, I wasn't a n00b XD I loved the others too. I can remember watching TOS when I was about 5 years old. XD (why do I get the feeling I am trying to justify myself now? hahah) I didn't get into DS9 until recently though. The Bajorans pissed me off too much. Watching the reruns now I am enjoying it a lot more (especially since I'm getting close to the part where Worf comes on board)

how about just bIjatlh 'e' yImev.. or bImoHqu'! I dunno, I always feel that Hab SoSlI' Quch doesn't really work unless you're saying it to a Klingon... if you're human then of course your mother has a smooth forehead XD

XD XD XD while trumping the n00b fans is a little bit satisfying, I think I could deal with them deciding to rape Klingons, if it means we get some Klingon action in a movie. :\ I would enjoy seeing them again. (also how do you do that tiny text?)

"Character is"? I don't remember it... link me? : )

Oh god yeah I felt really uncomfortable when he started getting it on with Uhura... it was like.... wtfffffffff ...that just wouldn't happen! STILL, i'd rather he get it on with Uhura, than with Kirk.

ALSO, on the subject of Uhura, and something I almost forgot to mention, How AWFUL was the movie Uhura? She was just terrible! Nothing like the original... they turned her into some hip cool funky fashionable girl-next-door type funky chick who you know would wear pink sports suits and shining white trainers when she's offduty. But have you noticed how the n00b fans accept the new version of Uhura as though she is canon... they actually LIKE her... remember that Star Trek movie meme? I saw one where under the headder "what should happen in the next movie", someone drew ponytail Uhura with the slogan "Uhura kicking ass" or something like that. It made me die a little inside.

I think I was the only person who drew a Klingon for that bit. XD

TOS Uhura would never get it on with Spock. In fact I think it would be incredibly difficult for anyone to get into her pants.

XDDD That's so long it doesn't even fit entirely on my screen! Anyway...

I started watching Voyager when I was in...somewhere around first grade to third grade...I probably got more into it in third grade because I remember staying up past my bedtime to watch it XD I don't think I developed an appreciation for Tuvok until I got to see his actor at one of the conventions. Then I was like...dude...this guy is hilarious! Before that though, I pretty much took on the same opinion as the rest of the crew...he's boring and frustrating XD I was surprised a lot when I first started watching TOS. Spock kinda failed at being emotionless XD

Oh dude...those fantards I've been complaining about DID come to the convention...and they WERE lost! It was great! That made up for the annoyance of them being there tenfold...-snickers evilly-

I would only want Klingons in the movie if they made them freaking fantastic and evil XD Like, so much that all the fantards hated them...maybe they could beat the crap out of newSpock. That would be hilarious XD (...I like newSpock, I just...I don't know. XD) Um...I don't know if they should be like the original series Klingons or like the forehead Klingons...I think it would piss people off either way. :/ Maybe they could offer a reason for why the two different kinds exist? XD Just like they did with where "Bones" came from...

Here's a 'Janeway is'... [link] It's like that, pretty much. It was for a contest that somebody did, but I think it's still a very good idea. Yay for canon police? XD

Haha the first time I saw the movie, it went like this: "Student favoritism is not logical...aww, she really cares about him...O.o okay she REALLY cares about him....O____O He likes her too? -disgusted face-" and then them making out in the transporter I was just like no. No. -tries to mentally separate them- GRRAAAAA WHYYYYYY???

I...hmm. I don't want to see Spock 'get it on (XD)' with anybody really. He's a Vulcan...that's not how it works >.> I...can't say I prefer either of them. They both disgust me XD I don't like non-canon pairings whether they're a straight couple or a gay couple.

Oh dude...at the convention, there were SO MANY NEW FANS...it was disturbing..."So what do you guys think of Spock and Uhura?" -whole room cheers loudly- Me: o________o

And yeah...I was really confused with Uhura...she seemed a little ditsy to me in the original series. One time...crap what's the name of that robot probe thing that came and thought Kirk was it's creator? Dammit...NOMAD. I think that's it. He deleted all of Uhura's memories because her mind was too messy or something XD! She didn't have that sort of...strong woman thing that this new one has...you know? -fat guy hits on her with Tribbles- Uhura: Awwwwww! <3 ...you know? XD

...man. The convention was invaded with new fans. So they totally didn't even get the whole...lost thing, most of them. And there was somebody selling cardboard cutouts of the movie characters, and half the people there bought them DX dflkdjsflsdkf freaking...augh. JJ Abrams didn't revive Star Trek! He just changed it! The old Trek is still gonna die out, and the new fake one is gonna rise up...

Eep, sorry for rambling on!

I was discussing the klingon issue with someone else today. Okay, I'm guessing you haven't seen ENT: Affliction. It explains why the Klingons look different in TOS. X3 I won't spoil it for you, if you intend to watch it. But in the other conversation I had, I said that the best way to stick to canon would be to have a mixture of modern day Klingons (eg. TNG style) and TOS ones. I think that would work with the Affliction story as well. (Aaaaaaaaaaaand, before you say that you can't stand Enterprise, give season 4 a try! It's better than the rest, I actually got hooked on season 4 after finding the rest of the series quite boring!) I don't know about making Klingons evil... they should be honourable :\ but I guess that doesn't mean they can't be brutal and nasty.

Yeah I was like that with Spock and Uhura as well. WHERE THE HELL DID THAT COME FROM? Aside from being an abomination of canon, the whole thing didn't have a point to it. even ignoring the previous 40 years of star trek canon for a moment, in the movie there is no "boy meets girl" story between the two of them... no epic romance... neither proclaims their love for the other... just some random snogging. wtf? Are we to believe that they are fuck buddies or.. what? It doesn't make any sense.

Unfortunately they can get away with messing with Spock, because he's half human >< but he seems more vulcan than human (in canon anyway), I don't think it would be logical to go around kissing people more often than once every 7 years. And even if it WAS his Pon Farr, I still don't think he would do it in public. Arrrrgh, i could go on and on listing the reasos why the whole thing just doesn't make sense.

Uhura was a regular 1960's woman wasn't she? She was ditsy, but not stupid. I think she should have acted more like Hoshi in ENT (who is good at her job, but gets scared when an alien roars in her face). Not such a "girl power" sort of woman. Okay, perhaps they thought to make her more politically correct... but they crossed the line between respectfully expanding the character, and totally changing her into a completely different character. Also, I think she should have at least had the same accent.

I believe that Star Trek needs changing, to make it more relevent to today's audience. They totally overhauled it in the 80's with TNG, and the changes worked. Now it needs another overhaul. And I think the movie does a good job of doing that....but messing with the characters is not so good. If they were to make a new TV series in the style of the movie that would be great. (If it contained brand NEW characters rather than fucking with the beloved old ones)

Ahhh that Janeway link made me seriously LOL! I missed that whole "character is" thing, it's great! I'm gonna see if I can check out some more.

I do like Enterprise :] I thought I'd seen all of them, but I kinda...don't pay attention sometimes >.> Enterprise just didn't catch and hold my attention the way the rest of them did...unless the Andorians were there. I loved them X) I'm going to have to go find that episode now...

For the evil Klingons, I mean...you know how Kirk was the one that brought them into the Federation? I meant like that. Like Argh you freaking humans, we hate you. You know?

LOL somebody asked something like that at the convention..."So we have this joke about Spock's seven-year itch...is that just a constant itch now, or what?" XD Maybe Spock does just have a constant itch...and Uhura got a little of that Pon Farr when they bumped into eachother in the hallway. XD I don't know, but they didn't freaking explain it at all, and it just seemed like they needed a little last minute romance thrown in.

Dude...I know. The completely changed Uhura. That's why I love the movie as a fan creation. Not as actual Trek. And that's why I can tolerate stuff like that...because fan-made things usually mess up at least one character. What makes me angry is how all these other people just accept it as canon :/

Yeeeahh! They should totally make a NEW Star Trek...because then they could do whatever they want with it, within reason. Totally new characters and whatever romance they want and new ship designs that look like Apple products...XD I think that would be great. THEN I might consider that canon...just...alternate universe...XD I don't know. I agree though. Making their own Star Trek would be much better.

Oh I know, I love that Janeway thing! XDD She doesn't love Seven...or Q...or the Borg Queen..."Come back here my love! Resistance is futile!" XDDD Those 'character is' things were great...I want to make one.

Ah sorry. XD Yeah I feel the same way about Enterprise, it's fun but not as good as the others (except for season 4) ohhh and the Andorians are great, I love Shran XD

Did you find Affliction/Divergence? (if not, go here [link] laylists )

Blegh, I think the movie could have done without that stupid romance. Every movie doesn't NEED to have romance in it to be good - ESPECIALLY romance that completely doesn't make sense. The only part that made me smile about the romance, was Kirk's dumbfounded face when he saw them kissing in the transporter room. I was just as dumbfounded!

Yeah, it's NOT canon, but n00b fans seem to think it is...because its the first Star Trek thing that they have actually seen/liked.
When I first saw the movie... all the way through, I couldn't help thinking how it messes up the timeline to have Vulcan destroyed. I kept thinking that they would find some wayto restore the timeline! Perhaps, the next movie could be about that - restoring the timeline, bringing back Vulcan... changing it back into canon ;D though my boss reckons that the timeline wouldn't be effected at all, HE thinks that they could have just found another planet, and called that Vulcan, and everthing would work out the same. :\ I don't know, I don't think that works.

Also, Ambassador Spock did not seem to have much regard for the Temporal Prime Directive right? XD

I think they really should make a new Trek... in the style of the movie... it could be amazing. Most talks about new Star Trek seem to be focused around Kirk's era though, I don't think they can do that. They already had enough trouble with Enterprise contricting itself... I think the future is the way forward. 29th Century perhaps? We've seen a few 29th century timeships in Voyager, they could really start fleshing that out now, if they wanted to. (And with timeships, they could go back to any era they want as often as they like!) What do you think?

lol yeah the Janeway Is made be laugh so much! I couldn't find any other Star Trek ones though : ( do you know where I can find them?

Oh okay thanks, I'll watch that when I get the chance : D

Yeeeahhh...that's why the romance was really just..blagh. It wasn't needed, it didn't fit, and it didn't make sense. And it wasn't canon at all.

Yeah, when I first saw the movie, I was really confused about destroying Vulcan too. I was like...wait...what? And Spock's mom...huh? Then somebody had to explain it to me later that it was an alternate timeline so anything could happen. And I don't think that they should 'restore' the timeline, because I don't think I'd consider it canon even then.

Hahaha the Prime Directives are not there to be paid attention to! Kirk never did...

Hmm...well, even if it was in Kirk's era, the style of the show would be so different from the classic Treks that the whole jumping back in time thing wouldn't really be an issue. I do think that they should move forward from Voyager though...I've thought that since Enterprise started. And plus, they would have more room to do whatever they wanted...they wouldn't have to stay within what had already been set up in TOS.

I don't know if there are any other Trek 'character is' things...Janeway was the only one that I found. Most of those were like...for anime and video games. Things where slash and other crap is more prominent. :/ Sorry. That's why I think a Spock one should be made though.
