Description No fanart category for sculpture? Huh.

Anyway, this is based off of 7 of 9's Borg implant that goes around her left eye.

I made it originally to wear at the convention, but then I realized after I made it that most of the actors think that all the people all dressed up are pretty ridiculous. So then I didn't feel like dressing up more than a Star Trek themed t-shirt. XD I'll probably wear this for halloween or something though. That would be fun.

Maybe later I'll get a picture of it actually attached to my face. It's made to fit that way - it's not flat.

I spent like...8 hours straight on this one night. I was super hyper through the whole convention. It was hard, I'm usually terrible with detail with Sculpey. So that's why this isn't perfect.

The background came from ~dridgett-stock [link]
the Borg/7/her implant/Star Trek is Gene Roddenberry's.
The sculpture was made my me. X)
the font...I can't remember where it came from. But that's not mine either.

I used just a pack of sculpting tools I found at Michael's...the brand is ArtMinds. I pretty much just used this tool that is kinda like a pointy spoon to smooth it out with, and for the rest of it I just used my fingers and random stuff around my desk to press into it to make the little circles. And a pointy tip that's like a toothpick shape for the details.

The paint was just some metallic acrylic, silver and copper. It was pretty translucent though, and it took a few coats just to make it look like that. The clay was grey anyway so you can't really tell the difference. I also used some watered-down black in the cracks and stuff.

Hopefully some of that made sense? XD; I'm not super pro at sculpting or anything, so I'm sorry.

I'd seriously wear this to the supermarket. I can just assimilate food without paying for it! Gah, I wish we lived on a Borg cube...

Nanoprobes not included. X) Sorry.

I don't think Borg cubes have supermarkets...

No worries, I'll just assimilate one. And a Burger King too while I'm at it. Yeeha!

that is really cool, i love 7, shes funny as. Last night I was watching the omega directive last night, she was cool in that.

i mean i kinda agree with the whole dressing up for conventions thing, its kinda weird but hey whatever floats your boat. I would like to go to a convention if it wasnt for all the crazy people.

What did you make this out of?

Actually most of the people at conventions are pretty cool, even the dressed up ones. I guess it depends on how much you like Star Trek; if you're really into it, some of the costumes people make are pretty awesome, but if you only kinda like it then the obsessive fans can seem pretty absurd. Some of them really are ridiculous, but most are pretty cool.

I made this out of Sculpey. X)
