I quite enjoyed “Maleficent” even if it was a bit CGI heavy. I rather suspect though that the reason it was made was because someone read/saw Wicked and cried, “I have an idea!!” (I’ve also heard that Disney couldn’t get the rights to film “Wicked” so they made this instead but that may just be a rumour)
PS. In case anyone points this out, I know that Maleficent gets her staff after she loses her wings but I just wanted it there to mirror Elphaba’s broomstick!

Oh I saw Wicked as well and I loved it, and I can see what you mean about the Maleficent film (though I also see that 2014 film having a bit too much in commons in once scene with Frozen as well). I thought The lead actress did a great job as Maleficent.

I think between Frozen and Maleficent, Disney got their Wicked fix rather thoroughly!

I just saw Wicked in West End last week and I thought exactly the same thing, those two may sure get along well if they met.
