Description When Loki was adventuring in a gigantic forest with Thor and Thor's servants Þjálfi and Röskva, they found a giant sleeping next to where they decided camping through the night. Loki, blinded by greed, encouraged Thor into stealing from the giant's bag. It turned out the bag was filled with smoke, which engulfed the four thieves. Thor, stroke by anger, stroke the head of the giant with his Mjölnir, but for the suprise of the god of thunder, did nothing but wake the giant, that got up, closed his own bag and waved goodbye to the gods.

Upon more walking through the forest, they found the largest kingdom they've ever seen in their lifes. A conglomerate of castles, mountains and ravines that formed this immense kingdom and decided to take shelter in there, but where greeted by another giant: Loki of Útgarðar. The giant was kind to let them satay but only IF they managed to pass three tests.

The gods accepted and Loki was the first to go. Loki had to fight Útgarða-Loki's servant, Logi, in a eating contest. Loki had always been a glutonous god with insatiable hunger, but as he was still at half his other side of the long table, Logi had already been at the center of the table, finishing his last piece of meat. Loki had lost the first contest.

The second to go was Þjálfi and Röskva and had to beat another of Útgarða-Loki's servant, Hugi, in a running contest. The two servants, although human, were faster than most gods. At the start of the race, the two humans ran as fast as they could but couldn't beat the speed of Hugi, who was already waiting for them at the finish line. Three more times they tried and three more times they were beaten. The second contest had been lost.

Lastly, Thor, mighty god of strength and lightning, had to beat the last of Útgarða-Loki's servant, Elli, in a fight. Thor was deeply enraged and offended by the proposition of fighting and old decreptic lady, but accepted nonetheless. Thor could not understand where such strength came from but no matter how much he tried, he could NOT defeat her and so, he lost upon falling on one knee. The giant was about to declare the winners when Thor demanded one last contest, and if passing it, they could stay as long as they wanted. The giant accepted and just asked for one thing: to lift his cat up in the air.

Thor, with all his might, took the cat and tried to lift it, but no matter how much he tried, the only thing he could lift was one of his paw. Defeated, they could only spend one night as a last act of generosity. The next morning, when they were about to leave, Útgarða-Loki finally showed his true identity: he was that giant from the forest and when they tried stealing from him, the bag was filled with a magical spell to scramble with their vision and none of the things they saw yesterday was actually factual.

For instance, Thor never hit the giant, but mountains and created three huge canyons; the first servant of Útgarða-Loki, Logi, was actually the personification of wild fire that consumes everything; the second servant of Útgarða-Loki, Hugi, was actually thought itself, faster than anything; the third servant of Útgarða-Loki, the old lady Elli, was actually old age personified, that always defeated everyone and lastly, the cat of Útgarða-Loki was actually Jörmungandr and Thor had actually lifted the snake so high to the sky it almost destroyed the world. Thor, furious, swinged his hammer at the giant, but only smoke he hit and only a vast plain they found themselves in.
