Tweaked design of Rita DeMara's criminal alter ego in this Alternate Marvel Universe.

Dragonfly is the alter ego for Rita DeMara in this Alternate Marvel Universe where she is the arch nemesis of Janet Van Dyne-Pym aka the Wasp.

DeMara was a fellow bio chemist college class mate to Hank Pym and Bill Foster and had some what of an unrequited infatuation with Pym. Her infatuation with Pym leads to her deducing the fact that he is the then occasional hero Ant-Man. DeMara would use her own bio chemical skills in order to create her own take upon the “Pym Particles” in an attempt to impress Pym and hopefully become his partner both as an occasional crimefighting partner and romantically.

Pym of course would become involved with Janet Van Dyne and eventually abandon the Ant-Man identity first for his brief stint as the original Giant Man and then for his current identity as the Yellowjacket which he adopted to work in partnership with Van Dyne in her alter ego of the Wasp that he had a hand in bio chemically creating for her in order to help track down the superhuman members of the Zodiac cabal responsible for her father's death.

This however infuriates DeMara as she feels Van Dyne is unworthy of both Pym or the superhuman abilities she receives. This leads DeMara to create her Dragonfly alter ego in what has turned into an ongoing effort to destroy Janet Van Dyne-Pym.

DeMara as Dragonfly has gone on to ally herself with Baron Helmut Zemo becoming a part of his Masters of Evil in order to better strike at both Janet Van Dyne-Pym and Hank Pym.
