Canon 350d with "kit" 18-55 and +3 hoya close up filter.Shot in raw and converted in lightroom with a hue/saturation layer added in photoshop

Exactly how close were you to the web when you took this picture?

At a rough guess i'd say I was around 80 - 100 mm from the web. I had my camera rested on a small cardboard box as my tripod didn't go that low.

Lol, everything bar the flowers is true!
My old compact used to focus as close as 3cm but because of the fixed focal length of the lens it didn't really look that close.
Next big thing on my camera list is a dedicated macro lens. Although i'll probably get some extension tubes before then!

I guess one can recognize you on the street as the guy who walks around with a cardboard box, a camera and a bunch of flowers
My current camera's macro means you need to go as close as you can (3 cm)
I made a bee very angry when i bumped into him once that way.....

Not so keen on the spiders themselves but they do fascinate me
