Shure, Skin tone would make a difference, but the amount of busted veins, arteries and capillaries would tell the color ,veins darker etc. Tech aside , it all turns black and shinny.

Excellent pic. I read somewhere that during the 1800s in England during the era of bare knuckle boxing, women (usually from the minority groups in Victorian England) also boxed often bare breasted and the Irish chicks were considered the toughest.

Absolutely wonderful, as is to be expected from you! The girl on the left looks amazing, and I love the darker purple on Erin. Have you ever considered doing a before-and-after drawing?

Thanks! Β I figured that since they have different skin tones then it's only natural that they would bruise differently too. Β I suppose if I thought that I could draw the same character twice, then I could do a before and after picture - though my tendency is to draw the boxers with the damage already existing. Β I guess it's easier to draw a fighter with one eye swollen shut and a mouse under the other one, etc and then add colors than to draw her unbattered and then go back and add the swelling

Hmm... On the note of it, she wouldn't have to be in the same exact position in both pictures. You could have the first being a shot of her pristine and beautiful, ready to fight, and then have the second after a hard loss. Just a thought - I always thought it'd be neat to see the injured vs. uninjured side of your drawings.

Actually, I'm less concerned about the same pose as I would be about having the character recognizable as the same in both pictures. Β And I suppose the second image could also be of her after a hard victory - since none of my boxers seem to come back out of the ring pretty!

That's a very good point. Hell, the beauty might come from the gal not being recognizable *at all* in the second picture. It is a testament to awesomeness though, that none of them ever come out looking pretty after the fights.
