Description
This one's for *trinity-77 , who dug the fountain shot the other day.I took this shot on that very first trip into town with my new camera. Actually, this was the first shot of the day. The Captain Cook Memorial Fountain shoots about 70 metres (230 feet) into the air.
The building to the left of the fountain is the National Library of Australia. The trees along the lakeshore behind the fountain are the same ones in my Road To Nowhere shot.
While there's nothing wrong with this shot, I didn't think it was quite cool enough to put in as a deviation. It's a bit touristy for me

Taken on a perfect day because the way the fountain spray merges with the clouds is really special. It's like showing two elements of water merging together.

Thanks. I find it's a little too grey for my liking, but I'm glad you like it.

Thanks. I'll have to see if I can get a decent shot of the fountain on a clear day. There's too much grey in that shot, with the clouds and all. If the sky was blue, the spray would be much more noticeable, and it'd be a better pic, I think. Unfortunately, it's been very cloudy here lately.

Same here, cloud wise. I;m so sick of rain and clouds that I feel like I'm drowning.

It's not so bad. This place has had a very long dry spell, so it needs the rain.
