Description
I was combing through my collection of photos from my bushwalk a while back and I found a couple more shots I quite liked and had forgotten about. This was a snow gum tree growing beside the road I was walking along. Normally these trees are as straight as arrows, but this one had twisted around itself somehow

It's strange how trees can grow twisted. And that's very twisted. At least from a gum-tree.
Good shot, by the way!

Cheers! It is very twisted for a gum tree and I'm totally flummoxed as to why it ended up like that....

that is so unusual and beautiful in it's "natural state" ...apparently it must have gotten that way due to growing around something in its way. Isn't that just super! I wonder what it was thinking? Oh my poor aching back lol

I really have no idea why it grew that way, but it's an unusual look, so I was glad to find it

Great tree. The twister trunk certainly makes for an interesting photo. I get the impression that this is not a very large snow gum and from memory they can be giants of gums. I can see the body in the tree too. Maybe this is how the myths and legends of gum fairies etc starts.... Nice shot

No, it wasn't a very large gum. Probably only about 10 feet tall, from memory.
