Note 1- 'Battlestation/City on wheels' mode is not here as that was a frankly silly idea. Where would he drive for crying out loud? a 200 lane highway?
Note 2- Scamper is missing too, just because I couldn't bring myself to model him. He had the campest name out there apart from 'Powermaster Lube'.
Note 3- Sixgun completes the trio of missing modes. It never made sense to me, even as a little boy, that Metroplex would merge all his guns into one single robot. Surely the guns would have been a lot more useful.
Note 4- Slammer is present though, and upgraded. Having as just a 'tank' didn't make much sense, scale wise, so now he's a mobile building/bunker thing with a big gun on top....oh, and he can transform now too!

In some of the comics Metroplex's Battlestation mode would be more aptly called a spaceship mode.

Nice turn on the Citybot concept, having Metroplex partnered (Binary-Combined ?) with a smaller, more mobile bot who would also handle the more offensive aspects of Metroplex's duties. Reminds me of the Spike/Cerebros/Fortress Maximus combining in the cartoons- brushing the Spike side away, that is ^^ or maybe Roller/Optimus Prime - except Roller is more of a remote-controlled drone to Prime, maybe - I'm still having trouble deciding if it's sentient or not ^^.

It looks like something out of the "Cybertron" cartoon. Say what you will about that animation style, it did make for some nice crisp screencaps. Nice going!

Thanks again. It's the 'Ink and paint' material in the modelling program I use that makes it that way. I have dabbled in using more 'real' world materials at times-

but I think it makes the models look like what they are actually are- just a load of cubes arranged into the shape of a transformer. Ink and paint is far more forgiving.

Not too tired! just not really wanting to make up any more. Although saying that, as I've been going through the buildings transforming them into robots......I think Ratchet's medical centre could use an 'upgrade'.

I haven't read it, no, but this guy is MASSIVE. I plan to do a group shot with all of my Citybots, including the Guardian Robot, who dwarfs all other transformers. He'll be tiny though when compared to Metroplex here.

It looks fantastic, seeing the extra detail you added to make Metroplex more complex and imagining all the city building parts on his body gives the impression he is a city-bot. Well done and look forward to Slammer.

Your welcome! Well I think it could 2 ways since you are so broad in making new or designs of the G1 characters but I do think it makes sense to make Slammer's alt mode a robot since he is part of the complex additions to Metroplex.

I think you might be right....an animal citybot would be a little too Decepticon, what with Trypticon....a giant hulking robot cannon it is then.

O thanks for agreeing! Yeah very true the Autobots represent more modern alt modes and Decepticons animal with some others as futuristic alt modes as well.

I originally planned to do something similar to my Autobot Citybots with Trypticon- give him some smaller bots that he'd merge with to be more city like. There was going to be a Dimetrodon whose sail would fold open to become a massive landing pad, a Pteradactyl who was some kind of powerplant and an Ankylosaurus who'd become a missile silo, etc.
I'd love to see someone else's take on 'Citybot' OCs

I could imagine your ideas which would really cool to see since I don't really see. I like your Dinosaur choices as they are some good forms of interpreting into robotic/futuristic transformations.

How a bout a ram animal mode for Slammer?

I was thinking maybe...and I can't believe I'm going to say this...an Ankylosaurus. The tank is blocky enough and that huge gun barrel has 'tail' written all over it. My only issue is with the fact that I already have an Ankylosaurus named Slam!
