All these characters are fantastic but, why are they so dark? They are all so painted in black that we can hardly see the details.

were you going for generic termite, or young queen/drone in design style? :

You know what, I have no idea! The refence pic I used is titled 'wingedtermite'. I went for the winged termite so he would at least be a little bit different from my 2 ant OCs, Antimatter and Logjam. I imagine a drone would be more fittinng for him though, what with him being a builder.

the termites that build are the workers. drones are the males that mate with the queen. the design is very accurate.

The right side looks kind of like a zoid, even though it isn't.

Really incredible work here.

Thanks!!

I know what you mean about him being 'zoid-esque'. I think it's the legs, they remind me of the simple little wind up spider zoids you could get way back.

I used to collect them, though only for like, a week did I try to get my hands on the rarer ones. I managed to get one of the original shield ligers. Salivating over the thought of having an untouched, mint shield liger model at the moment, but alas, I played with it and it's in pieces, scattered amongst boxes in my parent's garage.

I really love your work.
