1 : Great short-faced bear
Arctodus brevirostris

The great short faced bear is an extremely large species of bear. They are around 12 feet tall when standing on their hind legs, 3 metres long and weigh in at around 400-900 kg. They are omnivorous and are the top mammalian predator in the ecosystem. They are related to short faced bears. This species tends to reside in the areas closer to the coastline, as an extremely large mountain range separates the western side of the continent which is more temperate with an evrironment like that of Canada, while the eastern side is more like that of California and Arizona.

The mouse antelope is a very small species of antelope that lives in the eastern parts of Takun. They grow to about 70cm-1 meter long and weigh 10 kg.

There is several species of monkey found on all parts of this continent. They consist of macaques, baboons and other old world monkeys.

6 : Giant cave sloth/cave troll
Bellumitherium spelunca

The giant cave sloth is a formidable beast that can be found in the western part of the continent. Thick, armoured hide is hughly affective against attacks from any potential predators. This hide has not gone unnoticed by the peoples of Takun and these creatures have been used in many battles and their armour used for weapons and body armour. They grow to 4 metres long and 1-1.5 tons. Their diet is varied and they are omnivorous.

7 : Takun blitzbok
Antilope takuniensis

The blitzbock is a very close relative of the blackbuck of asia. They grow to 1.5-2 meters long and 50 kg. They have very long, forward facing horns. Their habitat is the eastern ranges of the continent and they thrive in the arid environment.

8 : Highland ibex
Capra altus
The highland ibex is a large species of wild goat found in the large mountain ranges of Takun. They are proficient climbers and are able to scale the mountains with ease. The ibex reaches sizes of 1.5-2 meters long and 60-70 kg. They are one of the few mammals who reside in the cast mountains.

9 : King / Silver hyena
Gorgocrocuta rex

The silver hyena is a very large species of hyena that can be found on the western side of the continent, but are also found in the mountains. Their large size allows them to take down almost every creature in their area. They live in packs of up to 20. When compared to other hyena species, they dwarf all, as they reach sizes of 2-2.5 meters long and 80-140 kg.
