Was thinking about an idea I had for how Scar should've gotten his scar and then I remembered I made a drawing a long time back that was somewhat related?? Idk but I decided I should redraw it with the new idea. The old one was really... and I mean REALLY bad
My trashy 10 year old self made this (OLD) Can't Escape! Redraw
So yeah a lot of improvement
Okay so the way Scar gets his scar in The Lion Guard is pretty lame, so I came up with another way he could've gotten his scar.
Pretty much what happens is that when Scar was the leader of the guard still, they are told that there is a group of male lions in the outlands. These lions are crossing the border into the pridelands and hunting there. So the guard goes to confront this group, the leader of that group is the strange lion Scar follows in the clip where he gets his scar. He's also Zira's father and was training Zira to be the next leader and receive her scar. These lions worshipped the evil lions of the past and believed that power could be transferred through a scar before the previous leader died. But Zira's father wasn't so keen that the next lion would be a lioness, as because there had only been one lioness that was a leader. The day the guard was coming to confront the lions was the day Zira would be given her scar. So when they arrived they were shocked to see the leader about to scar his young. Taka (Scar's birth name) took charge and stopped the leader, getting in the way of his claw, thus receiving the scar and plummeting to the ground. Forcing himself back up and taking the shocked cub, they ended up getting out of there. Zira kept trying to run home, Taka tried to explain to her what they were trying to do. But she had already had an example in front of her and when they got back the guard explained everything. Zira even started to talk about how to treat the scar partially and redeem his sight. Sadly she couldn't stop talking about how the scar was a symbol of her home and what it meant.
After that day Taka was never the same, many of the lionesses never wanted anything to do with him. He was always first to be accused of a crime and even his mother, who he was the closest to, started to drift away. All of the pride called him Scar from then on and refused to share their hunt with him. Mufasa tried to cheer him up, but only one lion could. Zira would always visit him and she'd be his apprentice, he'd teach her how to hunt and she would chat about her life. Both of them unwanted by the pride could keep each other company.
