Okay so I saw an entry of this contest and was like
Lion King, character design? Aw heck yeah I gotta do that!
But I rarely ever draw LK stuff... so I know little to nothing about the style :.)
90% of this was staring at the family tree and trying to make him look less like scar.
Though, I will say a lot of his looks were determined by Uru and the kids!
I wanted to make sure he was still his own character, but also resembled his family.
