And this is for another design compitition...they are my life and its almost pathetic, however I have this wonderful excuse...Its improving my skills!
Or whatever.

Anyway, I've been slowly getting this done since July.
We were asked to design:

"-Design a theatrical outfit
- That you yourself would wear if you had a runway show. (aka your fashion alter ego)
- It must incorporate a measuring tape, pin cushion, and a thimble shape somewhere in the design. (the objects must be recognizable.)
- Must be 8x11 inches or larger
- Must NOT have a background of any sort (white only please)"

Urgh. I was not excited about including those items. So I attempted to do it subtlely. And well, you know me and sublte...doesn't work.
The measuring tape is in the jacket, as the red trim around the hood and down the color...there are black threads sewn in, big, messy threads, to represent the little marks on measuring tape. Then the number pattern on the hood also goes with that. As for the rest of the jacket, the plaid part is some sort of wool, and the grey is a very short grey suede.
This was still back when I just started getting this mad big-jacket lust, and so we have mutton-leg shoulders.
I didn't want to do another bubble skirt to represent a pin cusion, so I did a big fluffy tiered tutu instead. Multi-colored beads dashed across it are ment to represent pin-heads. Underneath, the top is a bow-like thing, with pyramid studs covering the middle section, and more sheer fabric draped over a more form fitting bodice underneath.
Now, the thimble is found int he one part of this I'm truely excieted about, them shoes. I took the basic shape and made a killer platform heel, metal, very close weave, cage-like, to represent the texture a thimble has. The straps/ankle cover are patent leather. So is the purse, wich as a whirly zipper thing around it.

Aaaand, there you go.
