Description
Absolutly stunning view of C-47A-10-DK (DK stood for Douglas, Oklahoma City) N99FS, AFSN 42-92602, c/n 12425 seen at Peachtree DeKalb MAP in Atlanta (where I learned to fly, back in the day) seen in July 1987.Related content

Ninety-Nine Fox Sierra! I got my DC-3 type rating in this plane flying for Bill Shivers, owner of Flite Services. He had this plane restored at Bassler in Oshkosh and configured to carry cargo - all diamond plated steel inside. Great airplane and a hoot to fly.

Very cool.
Glad you enjoyed the pic of this old lovely Gooney Bird! It is hard to believe this photo will have been 30 years ago in July!

Old DC-3's never die, they just get a new livery scheme.
