Description
C-130A-45-LM, 57-0464 assigned to the 105th Tactical Airlift Squadron, 118th Tactical Airlift Wing, Tennessee Air National Guard based at Nashville MAP seen at Fargo MAP, ND in June 1986.
You can tell the "A" model Herks from other variants by the 450 gallon external tanks that were installed outboard of the outer two engines.
Herk's looked nice in 'Euro-1' in bright sunlight, but the markings were pretty minimal!

I liked the old A Models. I have flown across the country twice in C-130As

Very! I would take a roll of foam and sleep on top of the pallets! I wore earplugs for the entire ride!
