Description A view of the F-5E on display at the Hickory Aviation Museum, at the Hickory municipal airport, NC.

Since the museum was closed, I was not able to get a clearer shot of this ex VMFT-401 jet that was based at MCAS Yuma.

The A-4 nose is likely to be an early A-4A (A4D-1) from the nose contours and the fact that the intakes do not have a boundary layer splitter.

Interesting shot. Looks like a scrap yard. Those Top GUn F-5Es are fascinating. If they could talk. If I coulda had that A-4 nose when I was a kid........
