Great shot. I got to see them several times while they had A-4s at NAS Atlanta/Dobbins AFB. Having seen them in F-4Js and F-18s, I gotta say that they were my fav.

I was a crew chief on F-16s during my time in the USAF. Β I was based at Luke AFB in west Phoenix. Β I found out that this AZ ANG tanker that was based at Phoenix IAP was going up to Fargo ND to refuel the Blue Angels that would be performing at the Fargo airshow (in 1986). I got manifested on the flight as a 'Space - A" passenger. Β That is how I happened to be on this flight.

I had fun photographing the 'Blues"!

The Blue Angels Flew A-4Fs and TA-4Js for many years. They transitioned from the A-4s to the F-18A/Bs in 1987.
