Description
This is a scene from the Nickelodeon show "Avatar" that I reconstructed with very extensive creative liberties (basically the only similarity is that these two characters meet), for those of you who don't know what this is. And if you don't, SHAME on you, because Avatar is a damn excellent show.I started with this image probably two months ago, and had to put it on hold constantly for extended periods of time, because of other work. I thought that once I'd graduate from highschool I'd also have a lot more free time. This did, in fact, turn out not to be the case at all. But I had vowed to do more original finished pieces like this, and here we go.

Wow. I saw this LONG go...perhaps even before I came to DA..oh well duh the submittion date is right there. Yeah this piece has always stayed in my mind. Not kidding, I seriously have always remembered it and its made this scene and the character, Koh that much more intimidating and intense. I love it! Avatar is a pretty dark series when you think about it and although because it airs on Nickelodeon, that can't always be shown I feel like you really captured it here.

This is an amazing piece! I love your reinterpretation of their meeting. Koh looks so creepy but in a stylistic beautiful way, and I really like how you did his body curling around Aang's position and the shine to his armor/exoskeleton. Aang looks so focused on not making an expression. And I also really like how you did their meeting place with the raised dais Aang is on and the crooked bridge; it's just really well done.

Now that I've gotten that out of my system, I love the almost surrealistic-abstract look of the setting in this. I always thought that the spirit world looked a little too... normal in the series itself.
