Description
This is a scene from the Nickelodeon show "Avatar" that I reconstructed with very extensive creative liberties (basically the only similarity is that these two characters meet), for those of you who don't know what this is. And if you don't, SHAME on you, because Avatar is a damn excellent show.I started with this image probably two months ago, and had to put it on hold constantly for extended periods of time, because of other work. I thought that once I'd graduate from highschool I'd also have a lot more free time. This did, in fact, turn out not to be the case at all. But I had vowed to do more original finished pieces like this, and here we go.
Software: Photoshop CS.

How many textures did you use for the caterpillary guy who's name I've forgotten?

I have NOOOOOOO idea at this point in time, haha. It was like two or three photographic textures which I used as overlay and the rest I just painted. But I'm not entirely sure so don't hold me to it, it's been a while.

Great contrast, the one thing i'd say perhaps to make Aang stand out just that much more, add a little more shading around the base and sides? dunno, i think just the spirit would look a lot cooler if it looked like it was coming out of nowhere. But still, Freaking Awesome.

This is exceptional! The shine on Koh's back is awesome... Also, the way its angled (with Koh going around like that, outward from the frame ((If that makes sense))) is brilliant. My only crit is that Aang's eyes seem... a bit less real than the rest of the image. Other than that, this is truly breath-taking!
