Something to get me back into the groove. I've been swamped with an unusual amount of school work lately (as well as two major exams this week, or well, only one of them now), so here's something I saw in LeSean's gallery. I've always been rather affectionate towards his work, and I just found out recently that the man had a DA gallery, well whoop-dee doo.This is a character design from his up and coming comic book Cannon Busters (issue 1 is out already though, and sold out, I believe).

love the lighing. but im seeing two probs with the orange sec lighting. the way his right hand is angled and the way the light i coming, there should be more light on the upper part of the hand, and there shouldnt be any light on the bod of the little dude because of the head of the cannon guy.

I guess you're pretty much right on the red light concerning the little guy. Allthough, considering that the red light is coming pretty much from the bottom and left, it would still be visible on him. Not as prominent, and definitely not as much though.
About his hand, however, I disagree.

oooh ok, i didnt realize that the light was coming from the bottom of the hand. yeah, that would make sense with how the light is hitting the figure/

Oh that he is, indeed. His lines are unusually fluid and dynamic, kind of like Sean "Cheeks" Galloway (even though their individual style differ drastically).

Thanks man. The lightsource was pre-defined by LeS on this one, but I'm sure he appreciates it! And I do to, I definitely do. You always make me blush.

It's head is a gun. It's a kind of robot with a gun for a head, and he's being piloted by the little dude sitting in the chair where you might imagine his head would be.
