Something quick I did for a soup kitchen thing going on at the University next week. They wanted some posters, and several people from the Illustration class provided some work. The theme was mixed pickles, hence the name. I realize these pickles aren't mixed. Also I realize the brass knuckles have nothing to do with anything, really. Originally I wanted to paint an old school sort of still life of a kettle and shit, with just one misplaced item. Eventually I threw everything out of the image that still had anything to do with "soup kitchen" and ended up with this.Figured I'd upload it, since I don't have much else I can show at this point.

Well I googled iron knuckles as well as pickles, so I could get the shape / texture right. But there was no direct ref, if that's what you meant.

Yeah it's all digital. I made a couple custom brushes myself, with a texture of scan of some actual brush strokes embedded, basically.

It's one way to keep people looking at any rate; trying to figure out the connection between the two only to leave a bit more curious and more bewildered than when they arrived. Always a good thing. ^-^
