Description
Whoa, two uploads in two days, what is going on!So this is the cover to the second Volume of the on going fantasy spectacle Ria: The Lightclan Chronicles.
The first issue has FINALLY been wrapped up completely now. We upgraded it a bit after the first print run, adding some new pages. Also the dialogue has been re-written, thanks to the addition of Andreas VΓΆllinger (someone who actually knows how to write). It only reads like a million times better now.
The German publisher will be Splitter, the French publisher is Editions Paquet. Sadly, there is no english version yet. Eventually, though!
In the meantime, pre production on the second Volume has been heavily under way. We've been hard at work nailing the story line, designing the new locations and all that jazz. For a sneak peak into the development process and some concept art, make sure to head over to the BLOG: [link] !!
There's a lot of really interesting stuff going on with this project, actually. Augmented Reality features are still being incorporated, except better than the first time around. There's an interactive map of the world that you can download as an application for your Iphone, or as a Flash version for pretty much any other phone.
For more information on that, be sure to check out the offical homepage: [link] !!
We're also on Facebook, if you're into that kind of thing. Just search for "RIA- Lightclan Chronicles".
And I'll be sure to keep you guys updated here as best as I can!

Well if I could just finally post all the stuff I have been working on the meantime, I would never have "left". I've always been around, browsing, I just can't show anything yet.
But I'll keep throwing things at you whenever I can. :]

Yeah I understand, that's just the way business goes. I hope we'll get to see some of the stuff someday. Sick, looking forward to it, man!

Nah, sorry, I was never really into that. I get that question often and I can never provide an adequate answer. :]

Oh snap, so you literally taught yourself how to paint from the ground up?! That's crazy cos' every time I look at your work it's like how the fuck did this guy make this?! Your use of colors and textures is mind boggling lol. Aight, what would you advise a beginner to start off practicing? After I saw this guy's work [link] I'm determined to master this!

This is gonna be a let down, but the best advice is really just practice, and draw from life. If you have no idea what you're doing, draw from life. Observe. Analyze. Apply.
There are no shortcuts.
BUT you're totally already doing that, and doing a great job as far as I can tell. So you already know all of this. ;]

Life painting it is then! lol. S'all good, shortcuts are for pussies and anything worth doing is always challenging anyway. Thanks for hittin' me back though I appreciate it, especially since you probably get the same q's all the damn time. You're a cool guy Mr. Monk! Btw how can I get my hands on any those Satellite Soda artbooks if I live in London? Been wanting one of those for aaaages!

Our latest art book was published by Brand Studio Press, so if you look them up you should probably be able to get one from them!
I'm not sure about the anthology though...
Also that artist you linked to is pretty damn amazing. Not a huge fan of his figurative work, but some of those dream / fantasy landscapes are breathtaking. Great find!

Sick, they've still got volume one of the anthology up there! Gonna have to cop those when i get paid! Thanks for that! I'm gonna have to join you guys' site one of these days, I tend to lurk around on there amongst a couple of other places whenever I need some inspiration.
I know right?! That soundscape one is crazy! He's one of my favorite artists. Funny cos' I've always liked the worked he done for album covers (Miles Davis Bitches Brew etc) but never knew exactly who he was till a couple weeks back and discovered even more of his shit on his site.
