Gotta say I enjoy the top bit the most, expand that & make it into an opening panel for a comic & I'd be hooked in to read for sure.
Otherwise I gotta say, the texture on the rest of it is a bit heavy, I was experimenting a lot with similar textures sometime ago & felt that it sort of ate up & made the sharpness of a lot of elements muddy & unclear. It's a battle between ones paint & ones love for texture for sure hahaah, & I know you otherwise paint very clearly & defined. I guess I think the top part catches this balance a bit better, most likely do to it's composition as well. It just strikes me as stronger defined than the scene below. But yes! Experimentation!

Nah dude you're right and I totally get what you mean. Initially this started out as me just wanting to paint some clouds. And as I did so, I definitely also wanted to experiment with the textures. But then as the picture progressed and an actual illustration grew out of it, I kind of left that behind, but it still shows. In this case the texture actually flattens the clouds out, as opposed to emphasizing depth or anything else.
