Description Finally the model is done... I would not say 100% done, but at least is useable now. I couldn't find her dirty/bloddy skin texture maps in on the web, and I'm still struggling searching for them in the game files using the RIP tool, but until then, I'll have to keep doing more "clean Lara" artworks.

For those who have interest in the technical stuff:
The skin shader was developed in Blender Cycles, and uses a complex representation model, similar to Arnold Renderer skin shading system, simulating all layers (dermis epidermis and hypodermis), and the ways they interact with light. For comparison purposes, the model on the left, uses simple shaders, and renders in about 30min on my CPU at 4000 samples, the right one uses my skin shaders, which looks amazing, but renders in about 2 hours on my CPU at 4000 samples (Unfortunately, my GPU can't handle rendering this model, because of the 2GB limitation). Also, as you can see, I've modelled new eyes, because the original models were breaking the realism. So I've puted alot of work and time on it, and came up with a much more satisfying result. Also I've finished her facial rig, It's very rough at the moment, and have lots of errors when doing some extreme poses, but I will fix them as soon as possible. For the moment, they work just fine.

This is stunning. By far the best model I've seen.

One question - did you model this from scratch. Like sculpting, and all the way down the pipeline to rigging?

Don't let your processors have too much free time by using simple shader. They prefer rendering more beautiful Lara with lovely, smooth skin and fantastic shiny hair which I prefer over the no-shiny hair.

Thank you! The only thing I plan now is to set up a render node, to allow me to keep "working" while rendering my images. My last picture "Blood Ties" took 41 hours to render, and I couldn't use my PC in this period.

Sucks it takes so much time.

Cool, her hair should be more flat tho.

That's actually due to the lens, shooted at 300mm, tend to flatten the image, bringing what is behind to the front, and "killing" the depth perspective. I did some more tests in different angles, focusing only on the hair. You can see them here:  Lara Croft - TressFX hair , and tell me what you think.

Hm, I think that it still looks a bit too thick and her forehead is too small imo ...U could try to take this as reference img15.deviantart.net/8731/i/20…

Oh, I see what you mean... But I was aiming for something more like the the RISE OF THE TOMB RAIDER IN GAME TRESSFX , rather than the 2013 CGI model. Makes more sense with her new "in game" face model.

I see, I thought you're aiming for CGI hair effect. It's just that I don't like ingame model and I think that her hair is too thick ingame too. But this is just my opinion and I get that you'd like to make your Lara look like ingame with pure hair
Btw, If you're aiming for pure hair effect I think you should make her hair a little bit more curly/ wavey

I appreciate your feedback . I'll spend more time in the future trying to match better the PUREHAIR waviness. But It's a very laborious task, because I'm doing it by hand, and Blender's particle editor doesn't really help me at all.

Oh I see... I know how does it feel cause I am currently doing my Lara's hair by hand too. Well, good luck on your work
