I don't know if you care too much or not, but, from what I have seen, your artic wolves here almost looks more like artic foxes. Artic wolves tend to have super messy coats that stick out in all directions, and they tend to be a little gangly. Artic foxes, on the other hand, have very smooth, elegant, puffy coats. I don't know if that was helpful or not, but I just wanted to try.
Other than that, I would like to say that I do like the style that you are taking the comic in! It looks like it will be great!

I'm aware of the differences, but I've also seen photos that demonstrated exactly what I've seen here. Basically it depends what age the animal is that you're looking at, the conditions they live in, and the individual animal themselves. Most arctics I've seen are far better kept looking than most other subspecies of grey wolf. And exaggeration of that in an effort to make it more visually appealing and to make the differences immediately noticeable when showing different species against one another would lead to this appearance.
In other words, it's caricature.

This is by far my favorite concept piece! I love how you compare each generic versions of the species. The headshot of the open mouthed wolf in the bottom left is my fav.

I dig the big forehead on the timbers, and I LOVE YOU for drawing bulky dires! Seeing 'lithe and light' dires makes me want to hit kittens.

I like how you draw a snarl. Witht the skin 'sagging' down instead of back! The artic wolf looks grat if not a bit thin'legged. XD

I think the dire's head n' should be a bit bigger and a little more intimidating since they're well the biggest and the baddest. Good work on the timber species though, I like the contrast between all of these.
