maybe you'd be more satisfied if it was forcused on more areas?

i like the depth of field the way that it is.....having too much of the mouth in focus would just not look right......the composition is wonderful, and you've got a great range of tones...

do you think?iΒ΄m not sure how it would look like if more would be in focus !?!!?!?
but thank you for your words!
always appreciated

vcrimson In reply to fade-out [2004-11-29 11:03:40 +0000 UTC]

well it would look more in focus i suppose

i don't think it would look bad, persay.....it's just that it would be a different image...and i quite like shallow depths of field on closeups.....but i guess the only way to really see would be to shoot one with a smaller aperature and compare the two!

PrimalRhythms [2004-11-28 14:36:57 +0000 UTC]

I think the composition is interesting, but your focus/depth of field are off from what I would consider ideal for the shot. Most, if not all, of the mouth should be in focus. At most, I would allow a little bit of blurring torwards the parts farthest from the camera.

maybe this is a bit of the reason why i donΒ΄t like this image that much...but every tried to shoot with a macro lense and without a tripod?
for me it was the first time and there is no DOF using a macro...i took this shot at f8.0 and itΒ΄s very blurry...so yeah, next friday iΒ΄ll do it better!

thank you for the comment!

soooo cool. wish i'd thought of it. portrait, nude, abstract. the human body taken out of context--not an easy thing to do. you rock.
