I'm autistic, and suffer from a large dose of anxiety, meaning I don't do good with loud things. (unless there memes :V) but except for my ears being very very sensitive to noise, I'm proud of my autism! ^^

good ^_^ always glad to hear people writing autistic cass (which is practically canon, just missing the exact word )

Okay so the downside is her autism is very heavily coded rather than being explicit in the text, which means that lots of the examples are things that someone who is being obtuse (really not wanting to read her as autistic) could explain away. Also a lot of these are just things that I, as an autistic, recognize in myself, but they're not necessarily the dominant narrative of autism (so not things that NT people might think of)
First there's her non-verbalness (there are many non-verbal autistics). Again, the canon explanation is that this is from her being raised in complete isolation, with no language at all. Even when she does get the ability to speak (which is from someone non-consensually messing with her brain -_-), however, she still prefers to speak in short sentences, and is concise and to the point (I think when she tells Spoiler to be quiet, Stephanie is like "Some of us speak in more than 2 word sentences...") and has a very unique way of talking from most of the non-autsitic coded characters. I mentioned earlier using my own experiences to recognize her autism and one is this panel (shameless link to my own tumblr, cuz thats where i put my character analysis lol), where she uses TV to try to find out how to be normal, because she feels like she's missing the gaps in being normal, which is a very relatable autistic experience (i mentioned in the post watching friend groups on TV and being confused when I did what they did on TV and it didn't work in real life).
Got another post on just awkward social interactions here about the weird semi-romance plotline they had in the late 30s or early 40s of the Batgirl 2000 run.
Later in the series we also get her dealing with people's expectations of her... (as a heavily autistic coded woman). like barbara gets frustrated with her inability to read (and what babs perceives as not trying) calls her stupid, later she messes up words and has to ask not to be patronizedβ¦ Cassandra is also juggling batmanβs impossible expectations which winds up with her quite reasonably imploding.)
The problem is for like specific examples -- the reason lots of us read cass as so autistic i'm sure you know is because there's not like one specific example a lot is things that are INNATE to her character like her semi-verbalness/nonverbalness and her difficulty socializing and understanding the social rules, which "technically" has an explanation in canon in that she was raised in a bunker by an assassin, but it doesn't make her read as any less autistic. But if you were going to post every panel or every example for that you would pretty much post the entire run.
For certain specific examples I guess she is implied not to do her own clothes shopping link , says alfred does it. Stores often have very bright fluorescent lights that can be overwhelming, and crowds. So you could read that as her being overwhelmed by all the stimulus there.
ANyway sorry for the long post lol I have a LOT of feeligns about Cass's autism but its hard to condense them.
