This is like Penguin all over again -- gotta take the short crazy guy in ridiculous clothing who's a total asshat and a momma's boy, and make him at least somewhat sympathetic and give him a half-reform.I mean...it's not REALLY a reform because him and Connie are gonna get into all kinds of other trouble together
But things will get better for him, at least someday.
Dire will eventually be liberated and Red will be brought to justice, and Ripto will see his parents again.
So i shaded his robe traditionally, but the filters I used in apps turned it from purple to blue...
SO I used the PicsArt app to digitally shade over it and even add new highlights and outlines, and tbh i'm hella proud of that

I LOVE this backstory you gave him!! It make shim much more sympathetic, though still oddly comedic. Still, the poor dude...little wonder he hates dragons so much. It's a classic yet relatable case of an enemy made out of malice.Β

Yeah, I just couldn't help but see his character as one that could be shaped by pain as opposed to blatant racism or something.
He's angry at them because he's fucking terrified of them, but he'd rather run and hide from them all than cut them down.

Interestingly enough, you're not the first person I've had this problem with.
My art does not cater to you, specifically.
My art doesn't revolve around your personal tastes, interests, or preferences.
It makes me happy, and i privilege others to see it by choosing to share it.
This is how every artist operates.
There are no nipples, no visible genitals.
This could just as easily have been an androgynous female body, but the point therein is mute.
If there is something about my art that you don't like, that is 100% opinionated and not offensive in terms of being explicit or pertaining to politics, race, religion or sexual identification, why do you think that you have the right to impose your own preference upon me (or anyone else) in a negative way?
You can't just be like "oh, cool ref" and move on?
Or -- better yet, if you're feeling so cold, say nothing and go look at naked girls instead?

No need to get self-conscious! After all, since we get next to none canonised facts about Ripto (or almost any character on that matter) it doesn't really matter what fans come up with. At least it doesn't matter to me, as long as I get to read something on fandoms I like GOD DAMMIT! XD
I was mostly just surprised at Ripto having a long tail, I think? And I didn't quite catch what you meant by his skin being "smooth?" Is it like, very smooth fur or like human skin smooth (soft like a baby's butt!) or what smooth? I'm having a hard time getting a grip on this smooth!

Fun fact, Ripto appears in the epilogues of Spyro 2 and 3. Even Crush and Gulp appeared in the epilogue as well.Β Sadly, the epilogues never appeared in the Reignited Trilogy, instead being replaced by the art gallery. My thoughts exactly.
I imagine that Ripto was thrown in a jail cell after he was found by Gavin (at least I think it was Gavin). Itβs so freaking sweet that Crush and Gulp had started a new life. (I donβt think the GBA games are canon and the Enter the Dragonfly events happened differently in my head, I just want Crush and Gulp to stay good like Bianca! DX)
And you know the part where Gnasty and Ripto discuss the βSpyro Problemβ? That actually would have been continued in Enter the Dragonfly. Gnasty wouldβve teamed up with Ripto in that game, but he was cut due to rushed time constraints, instead being replaced by Crush and Gulp.

Oh, really? I thought it would be stubborn of me to do that, but thank you though. Youβre probably not into Sonic, but this reminds me of how I like to believe that the Sonic games and the Archie comic reboot share the same canon due to the reboot being more in line with the games and adding new events to the Classic games, and I donβt think Sonic Unleashed is canon, but I know a lot of people would disagree or find it weird because they made up their minds that theyβre alternate canons.
