Hey would'ja lookit that, it's that one OC from my pal , the Silas boi! Basically a quote taken directly from the first chapter of his fanfic series which you can find here on DA (see them underlined words that means it's a link take it it's free real reading estate) .
Oh huh, what's that? You think DA stinks (and i'll let you ponder on that irony for a minute) and you'd rather read cozy elsewhere?

You prefer AO3, it rocks your jam (honestly it also is my preferred reading platform but shhh)? Whoop there it is !
You'd rather get on it through your Wattpad lens? Huh... why? I mean, okay, yeah, sure .
However, I do feel the need to point out that the DA version of this fic has some art attached to different chapters so, y'nno, there's a bit of a nice treat in there. Also the format is much closer to the author's vision so it feels a little more authentic that way. Just sayin'.

I have a few gripes about this piece (that started as a simple sketch spurred on by, well, the quote plastered on the drawing itself) but the main one is... I forgot. the goddamn flag. attached to Marsh's bayonet. Like, let it be known I was thinking about it every time I came back to work on it? And still at the very end when I made the last color modifications, I still forgot the dang flag?? To be honest, I don't think having my signature on the gun's buttock is part of the space marine's decorum either so, you know, creative liberties!
That being said, I really just wanted to depict a field of soldiers... or a field with a few soldiers I guess. I can only draw so many faceless dudes in green armors before I realise "oh right, I gotta keep my energy for the dozen-or-so fanartsy sketches incoming". Still although we get lines of description of a few other guys in Marsh's squad, I kinda had to include Hyram on principle since he's the one that left me the bigger impression on chapter one. I'm sorry chief, that guy is just not prepared. But more on him next time.
