***********************************************

The thief lands to find herself staring into an open passageway from the room. Horrid fangs mere inches from her heels spur her forward, and a faint light beckons toward the possibility of escape. The innumerable limbs on the floor behind her strike a horrific rhythm that outpaces her heart as Callista flees from the trapped chamber.

***********************************************

With this one, I found myself starting to miss drawing gremlins... As always, Callista was drawn with references provided by Natalie at fetishfaerie-stock . The images that follow in this sequence are based on some awesome cool images she sent me. This one was one of my favorite. Thanks, Natalie!

Enjoy!

Note: Web of Betrayal and Demon's Due are a work of fantasy and fiction. The artist/creator in no way condones real mistreatment of this kind toward any woman or man, by living person, gremlin, plant, assassin, ratman, viscous fluid, programmed device, animated home furnishings, or otherworldly spiritual beings. Furthermore, the artist opposes the marginalizing and restriction of women in general by any institution, political and/or religious, including those which have individual women amongst their membership touting/promoting their own happiness within that institution as evidence that ALL women should feel the same way. This includes the religion I was raised in and which I have utterly discarded from my life over this and other issues.

I love this one. The composition, her hair, the look on her face, and the spider horde behind her are all awesome.

I think "from the trap" or "from the chamber" sounds a lot better than "from the trapped chamber".

If I had arachnophobia I'd be bothered by this image, good work on the huge spiders and the crouching pose.

Thank you! Arachnophobia seems to be common enough that this sequence won't scare too many folks away.

Love this image.Β  Even though she's escaping from the spiders, she could look as if she's actually leading them

Thank you! Yes, that look of menace does fit the "Let's Go Get 'Em, Team!" idea, doesn't it. Natalie has such great deadly expressions.

That spider horde would certainly provide Callista adequate motivation to hold nothing back in her run for what she hopes will be the light at the end of the tunnel. However, given that it is Callista, I'm quite certain that she would much rather have a few confederates along that she could trip or otherwise leave to the spider horde while she makes her escape.

Seems like you've got a good grasp on her character. She's willing to be haunted by her own misdeeds toward others as long as she's free to flee when necessary, so keeping "a few confederates" around, as you say, is a nice advantage.

Noted. In fact, I think I said the same thing in the Artist Comments on one of those pages. I drew them in on Page14 and then decided that I could probably add them in more quickly digitally if I decided I wanted them. They'll be pretty easy to add, I think.

You ought to add a few random strands of spider-silk crisscrossing the background.Β  The same goes for the previous image.Β

Completely nailed this one, I have to believe. Β Even without the wonderfully creepy horde-of-spiders background, the way you captured her face here is perfect; if I didn't know any better there's no way I would bet against Callista, who continues to be maybe the most interesting character in this whole story, if that's even possible to calculate. Β This is going to be a lot of fun, I suspect.
